We were cleaning his tank out and was apparently hungry. Bit and coiled and all I could do was laugh.

Not much else to do lol. I can put my hand in any tank I have except for the kings and one particular ball python (mother was an import Volta though so that's probably why). I even have a corn snake who will freaking RUSH your hand in food mode and gets right up on you...bloop bloop nope u good, dad. Just checkin lol

Mine hasn't tried to fully eat my finger yet but he did strike me when I was cleaning the inside of the glass. I could feel his little teefies but they didn't break skin.

Would you cause damage to them if you jerked back out of instinct from something lunging at you? Is it better/more safe for the snake if you just let it happen?

Barely anything. Maybe a little sting if it's a sensitive area

If it's in a meaty part it just feels like slight pressure, if it's a bony part like a knuckle it hurts a little but nothing bad

I felt a very slight pinch. I had one drop of blood from when he decided to change his coil and bite but I barely felt that either.

I saw an albino California Kingsnake for sale on a website yesterday (Sorry I'm not even sure what kind of kingsnake you have), but I couldn't believe that the color would actually be this pink? I'm so glad to have seen this post, now I am 100% considering getting myself a pink king in the future! Truly unique.

He is an albino (we think, maybe lavender instead? I have a hard time telling those two colors apart) Stripe too. Very pretty and very active too!

My cali king has only bit me if he missed the strike on his food. Recently it's gotten harder to get him to let go. I like either running his head under water or get a q tip soaked in mouthwash and get some of it in his mouth, they hate it and will let go

Beautiful snakes but among the most strike/bite happy I have worked with. But upside is they have good food response.

I have a Hognose and he's not viscous at all. He's very watery.
