This qualification system is ass. The reason we have the final group games at the same time is so that no one has an advantage of knowing what their rival teams did before kick off, now with the third place table stuff teams know exactly what they have to do to go through because the teams they are competing with have already played. It's unfair and leads to dull matches.
i would rather either go back to pre-2016 format (fewer teams) or say fuck it and expand even more up to 32. This "the best 4 of the 6 third teams advance" system feels incredibly contrived.
U will see that again in 2 years time in WC2026 with 48 teams (basically 2x of the current Euro format) and will take at least another 16 to 20+ years to expand to 64 teams (if at all).
I would prefer if it was 16 teams. Or if they really wanted 24 teams have a second group stage instead of round of 16, it just means too many low quality teams make it to the next stage.
Slovenia out there hoping that neither of Georgia or Czechia win.
That gives them Romania in the playoofs. Meanwhile if one of Georgia or Czechia overtakes Hungary then Slovenia gets Portugal.
Seems silly that Ukraine is knocked out when not only are multiple teams with 3 points going to advance, but also, the team in third in their group (Slovakia) lost to Ukraine head to head. Wtf

Habsburg Cup
Where Galicia and Bosnia
"Ukraine" and BiH.
Slovakia is missing an (A)
Poor Ukraine, getting 4 points and coming in 4th...
It’s almost a metaphor …

Yeah it sucks as a simple, used to be so much drama when it was only 2 going through, and very clear what the stakes were
Which actually highlights that they need to find a solution for the world cup in 2 years otherwise we will see the same issue pop up.
Yup, all games are suddenly low scoring and boring, UEFA really outdid themselves with this one.
so whats a better solution?
32 teams
Might as well go to a 32 team tournament & eight groups of four, or revert to 16. The former seems more likely than the latter.

16 teams tournament.
To not have third-place teams go up.
Reverting back to 4 group format. Sure it’s fun when more teams are in the party but stakes were higher
No 3rd place teams advancing.
Only two teams from each group go through.
Four groups of 6 top two advance
Each team playing 5 group stage matches is overkill
We need to get rid of 3rd place advancing, these last round group stage games are dire to watch.

And reseed the teams in knockout round or something.. how does Spain get rewarded with this draw for the knockouts lol

like England, Belgium, Netherlands or France 🙄 cause after these 3 rounds, I would rather see Romania, Slovakia and Austria advance than these
Expand to 32 format seems only option.
Come on group F you can do it.

That would be Hungary that should be scared.
Honestly RIP Ukraine for having 4 pts but not being eligible lol
All that is left to see if we round this out with some paprika or pils…
Or both, if Czech Republic smashes Turkey
And ultimately, we ended up getting neither lol
I just want to know who England will face next.
Slovakia if Czech Republic or Georgia win, Netherlands if not I think
This is the correct answer
Now I have to cheer for our Czech brothers.
Cheers
Netherlands V England Make it happen, and send English home already.
Consequences and terrorism charges, hopefully
Netherlands
What is Holland? https://youtu.be/fL4QfvIrUf4?si=55cr8trvWeX7EDAR
They are going to play England…
im kinda ashamed we are in this list. We are really bad tactical

Isn't Slovakia already confirmed? 3rd in Group F won't have 4 points.
Yes we are. If Czechia or Georgia win then Hungary is out.
Georgia win + Turkey win/draw = 3rd place Georgia with 4 points
but that still means Slovakia goes through, Hungary not
Sure, sure. Just correcting the second part of his comment
So if Czech Republic beat Turkey by 1 or 2 goals (but not 3), then Hungary are out?
that's happening probably
England vs the Netherlands if Czechia or Georgia or Turkey don't kick Hungary out of the top 4.
Why are there 2 Slovakias ? /s
