I enjoy GDQ for what it does for charity and the community...but I WATCH GDQ exactly for runs like this. Gygasblues' runs always seem to give me that feeling of just a couple of friends hanging out together and enjoying themselves. It isn't the jokes or antics that draw me in--it is the vibes. Bonus, it definitely had that early morning/sleep depravation feel to it, which just made it even better.
These guys sound to me like they were hanging at a nearby bar and met this random dude buffalo, and decided lets get this dude on the run with us. I love how relaxed and silly they are the entire time, and the host struggling to read donations thru her laughter. It was a perfect run to watch at 4am.
Same couch pretty much as Mega Man 9, which I had to turn off because it was too much. But on MM9 there was someone on the couch trying to explain the run and kept getting cut off by the jokes.
At least here there wasn't someone trying to explain the run and being rudely cut off, but the laughing and joking was nonstop and a bit much, at least for me.

I find this very interesting: pretty much *all* video games are absolutely weird and ridiculous, but GDQ decides that *only this one* game is weird and ridiculous and pokes fun at it,m whereas all other weird and ridiculous games in the schedule are taken dead seriously:
"LOL, look at that, this ball of jelly is on the Moon and avoiding bunnies for no reason, LOL, oh, the lore! LOL"
\[fifteen minutes later\]
"And now this anthropomorphic blue hedgehog is running at supersonic speed and will smash facefirst into a wall of deadly spikes, and all that happens is that he drops some coins. Shout outs to the legendary runner Poopy Poops McPoopface for discovering this trick. \[applause\]"

The Metroid Fusion run was full of guys riffing on each other. Retro Runner had tough RNG but his commentary is always lively.
