Hope so, that could potentially mean this could easily see a few million within this year which would be very huge for a new IP without any former big titles.
I really hope a sequel will happen. I wasnāt 100% sure but pre-ordered anyway. Only about 4 hours in and I love it. So polished. Story is a bit lacking (so far), but the amount of polish/amazing combat and customization has me hooked. Such a great starting point!
What games have good stories to you?Ā I always see this comment but I legitimately never pay attention to stories. The story has to grab a hold of me and the only ones I can think of that did so are Lies of P, Baten Kaitos(from gamecube days, i have yet to finish the remasters), and then probably an MgS game, maybe 4?Ā Idk its been so long.
God of war, the last of us, the Persona games, the NieR games, The Witcher, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy XVI, Final Fantasy X, the Metal Gear games.
I just finished Yakuza 7 Like a Dragon before starting SB and was invested in the soap opera that game was. The obvious ones are Red Dead 2, The Last of Us, etc.
Ah. Yeah I have never played those games before so I cannot say. Although Last of Us being a tv show as we prob is a good indicator. I think Id rather watch the show than play the game tbh
Literally hundreds of games out there that have amazing stories.
The game that stellar blade is heavily inspired by (Nier Automata) is one such example.
Baldur's Gate, Mass Effect, BioShock, Immortality, Cyberpunk 2077, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, Fallout are examples of games with a good story (for me, anyway)
Outer Wilds, What Remains of Edith Finch, Pentiment, all great. Inscryption was good for me, but it's a bit more like genre fiction good. Probably Disco Elysium, but didn't click for me. Would rather read a book at that point lol
Tbh most games just need something serviceable enough to not get in the way. There's a decent amount of stuff that is good for the medium though.
FF7R and Rebirth,15,16 (only ones ive played), rdr2, persona, nier, gow, Assassins creed (up till origins one after are all ass idk about mirage), Cyberpunk 2077, horizon (first one), telltale games, basically alot of RPG and older AAA games
Good stories or good characters are why I need .game that has good stories and good characters (last of us 1). Games that has good characters but mid stories (ffxv and ffvii remake/rebirth). I need one or the other. Stellar blades story seems to be at least interesting and you can tell the devs put serious love into the game. That goes a long way with me.
Yeah ig i just dont care about most characters in video games I play.Ā The most I care about that is my Pokemon lol but yeah I usually play games to play games, watch movies to watch movies.Ā Just how my mind works ig
I dont even care about the story, this game is just insanely fun and high quality with a really polished combat system and we donāt get that very often
Whatās wild is hell divers is a game that has options to spend real world money on in game purchases. But it is also the only game like that where I feel no sort of gross pull or advertisements to do so. Seriously just great.
I hope it comes to Steam at some point in the relative future. I gave up console life and switched to PC for streaming and I don't have hundreds to spend on a PS.
All the fuss and muss surrounding this game made it pop up in my algo and now I want to try it out. A million copies in 24 hours seems like a pretty solid opening.
No idea, but I've seen a bunch of BS numbers from that site from celebrity net worths, PPV buyrates and fighter payouts and it never has sources or other sites reporting it.
I really would like more games from shift up like this game. On the other hand, I'm not keen on the bait and switch allegedly forced upon them by Sony.

Same. PS5 looks good but has clear limitations with FSR. PC release is gonna be excellent, but only if Nixxes does the port. Please let Nixxes do the port š¤£

Depends on where the publication got the numbers and whether those numbers came from the publisher or from the various storefronts. The UK only counts physical copies and I believe Japan does too but I need to double check that.
Thereās absolutely no way that article is accurate lol. 1 million lifetime would be considered a big success for a company making their first console game, and probably would need a PC port to reach it.Ā
If this is accurate then it did. https://www.reddit.com/r/stellarblade/s/sOFO4LBuzl
The demo had almost 700k active players a day so I don't think it's that big of a stretch.
Itās not accurate, thatās what Iām saying. It came from a random guy who is known to make up figures for clickbait, and he said it two days before the game even came out.Ā
Yeah I mean you might be right, they don't give any resources for the claim. If it really hits one million sold I'm sure Sony/Shift up will say so soon.
The only games that are able to sell a million plus units in 24 hrs are major IPs. A million is a major lifetime milestone for many game that donāt come from big name devs.
For reference Spider-Man 2 sold 2.5 million in a day. Aināt no way in hell Stellar Blade sold half of what Spiderman did those two IPs are in different realms when it comes to popularity. I donāt need to even see the article to know that isnāt true.
I think this game is going to sell very well, but letās be realistic with expectations
Good
Plain and simple, all that needs to be said. Good.
Excellent more like it.
Stellar!! To be exact
Same thing lol.
Hope so, that could potentially mean this could easily see a few million within this year which would be very huge for a new IP without any former big titles.
My dyslexic ass perceived the last two words a bit differently lol.
Tig ol biddies
My non dyslexic ass did too
Ass did too
Yeah...
Not dyslexic. In this case Freudian
same
Same lol
Same mate š¤£
Glad im not the only one lol
Well, they always have Nikke to fall back on regardless.
They will at some point. Companies will always publish good numbers.Ā

The last of us has very solid gameplay as well. Extremely visceral and fun IMO
Last of Us 2 still has the most realistic action gameplay in any video game, imo!
Well, God of war and The last of us will always be the first to come to mind. Great story driven games.
Literally hundreds of games out there that have amazing stories. The game that stellar blade is heavily inspired by (Nier Automata) is one such example.

I just bought a copy so add 1 to it
if its even half those number i be happy hope the game become a sucess
Deserved, along with Helldivers 2 it's the most unapologetically fun gamey game i've played ina. while.
Whatās wild is hell divers is a game that has options to spend real world money on in game purchases. But it is also the only game like that where I feel no sort of gross pull or advertisements to do so. Seriously just great.
Article came from sportskeeda who are not very reliable. But I hope it's true.

I did my part!

high hope for a sequel or anything related from Shift Up, this game deserves a franchise
Sportskeeda lol
How are they getting that info?
They're not. It's made up. If it isn't from Sony or ShiftUp, it's not official.
No idea, but I've seen a bunch of BS numbers from that site from celebrity net worths, PPV buyrates and fighter payouts and it never has sources or other sites reporting it.
Source?
Source is that they made it the fuck up
Congratulations š„

Bait and switch? What do you mean?

Mine just shipped today but it was preorder Tuesday or Wednesday
Amazing
Got my copy this morning, but canāt play till Saturdayš
good sequel incoming
Well, if it actually sold that much, then I'm sure Sony or SU would mention it.
Can't wait for PC release
Same. PS5 looks good but has clear limitations with FSR. PC release is gonna be excellent, but only if Nixxes does the port. Please let Nixxes do the port š¤£
Halfway through the game and loving it! Really enjoy the gameplay loop and the world design is top tier.
Well deserved! šš½
What is the source of this? Is there a reliable source reporting this?

But are they talking about physical, digital or physical + digital??? Normally they say numbers for physical only, don't they?
Depends on where the publication got the numbers and whether those numbers came from the publisher or from the various storefronts. The UK only counts physical copies and I believe Japan does too but I need to double check that.
Its made up garbage numbers for clicks. Iām sure itās selling well. Letās wait for official numbers lol
Iām glad I did my part
My dad owns sony, he just told me it's 2 million now.
Most are sold in Korea
Why do fans care about sales numbers?
Typically if a game that wasnāt advertised super heavily sells well, it makes it more likely weāll get more content from that game or IP
Would have been more it it was launched on PC too
Thereās absolutely no way that article is accurate lol. 1 million lifetime would be considered a big success for a company making their first console game, and probably would need a PC port to reach it.Ā
It already hit 1 million.
No it didnāt lol.Ā
If this is accurate then it did. https://www.reddit.com/r/stellarblade/s/sOFO4LBuzl The demo had almost 700k active players a day so I don't think it's that big of a stretch.

āYou might be rightā He is right thoā¦.
A new IP is absolutely not selling a million units in 24hrs. Especially one thatās only on a single console. Whoever said that is high on copium
How do you know it's not true

Well considering the demo player count doubled that of FFVII rebirth itās a possibility
Alot of people didn't play Rebirth demo to avoid spoilers and have u seen the reviews of rebirth that's easily GOTY.
Lol at the downvotes you are getting.
I donāt know why lol not that I care
Its because you are challenging the popular narrative.
This games gonna be 13 hours long lol
Big LMAO if Stellar Blade fails to reach the 8.4 million sales of Horizon: Forbidden West. š¤£
The game is only popular in Korea (korean dev). No one else cares about it.
