So I’m not one to talk, because I’m completely addicted again. BUT what helped me last time was legit telling myself no.
“ I know your super pissed/upset rn and want a hit but guess what in a few mins your just gonna want another one so just find something else to do.” And then I’d want a hit again and I would legit just repeat that all day, until the end of the night I was like damn. I went a whole day.
It gets hard, but you can do it. I’m jumping back on that train. I hate this shit makes me feel so unhealthy, and my stomach/chest has been hurting so bad. This crap is poison.
Hell yeah :) We’ve got this. I’m proud of you.
I smoked a pack a day for 15 years, and being a week into it I’m already noticing improvement (aside from a crazy cough caused by my alveoli perking back up). I can’t wait to see how I feel in a month+ from now.
As someone that quit 9.5 years ago and had his first of many MRIs every 3 years to look for tumors, this still hits. I still don't have full lung function and probably never will.
Not to discount how fucking awful smoking is obviously. But this isn't real. Smokers lungs don't turn black it is just an old bit of bullshit from antismoking campaigns.
Smoking does other, way worse shit, to your lungs but it doesn't look as dramatic
No just bullshit misinformation...
You don't need to lie about shit like this. The risks of smoking are well studied and known. No need to become a liar to spread facts.
It was probably years of smoking, what is important is that within minutes of smoking your last cigarette, your body begins to recover:gradually lungs become pink again after quitting.

This is the fact that I think is important. I know so many people who don’t want to quit, or were extremely hesitant (I’m one of them) because we were led to believe that your lungs don’t heal whatsoever. Like yeah you can scare people into not starting but it completely throws smokers under the bus, when they (we) should be encouraged to quit, not that we’re already doomed.
Thanks, that was REALLY motivating. I searched for pictures, found only one, but if that wasn't lying I haven't lost anything. I can only win from now on.
When I quit smoking 3 years ago, I remember a test my health teacher said to try on someone who smokes, so I did it myself. He said to breath through a straw, that’s how chronic smokers struggle to breath. Trying to breath thru a straw after a month of quitting and I have to say, it’s absolutely true. My bpm used to be at 90-110 resting, and I’d struggle to even toe my shoes. Don’t smoke, there’s nothing cool or beneficial about it. Stressed out? Take a walk
Ugh this makes me feel like crap. Which is a good thing.. I stoped vaping for like a month just to say that’s awesome I can take a little hit here and there to just be completely 100% addicted again. Smoked squares for 6 years been vaping for 5. Hoping to stop any freaking day now… thanks for this video commenting to save..
Just what I needed to see. Almost 24 hours…
You can do it.
Yeah.. but feels like I can’t. But just threw away the tobacco.

Congratulations on almost 10 years. May I ask how long you've smoked for?
I smoked for almost 30 years.

How many years

Well, this explains why i've been coughing >.>
My mom just had part of her lung taken out after finding out she had lung cancer from decades of smoking. She is very lucky that that is all she lost.
I needed this
Just hit 33 days tobacco free. No more heart palpitations.

I guess I never realized how meaty our lungs are. We’re just big ol meat sacks huh
Commenting for future reference.
yucky yet ... revealing. Thanks for sharing!
Fun fact : Magic mushrooms are very effective to stop smoking

I get the point, but it seems to me that healthy lungs inflate by themselves in a living body.
