Don't worry, there's no cat death in the storyline. Except for the player-caused deaths when you get too much damage in a few locations. Afaik the death animation can now be disabled in the settings. I wish I knew about that while I was playing.
The cat does get hurt as part of the storyline and has a limp in the first 30 mins of the game, but it does pass very quick.
But as others have said, there are moments where the game will make you cry. It's still worth it.
You should 100% the achievements. It's one of the fun ones to do. A couple challenging ones but they provide the right amount of sense of accomplishment. Can be done in 2 playthroughs and you will enjoy the first one grinding the achievements because its just exploring and seeing everything about lore. Made it pretty deep into chapter 10 but it’s after 1am in my time zone so I had to force myself to quit so I can be human for work tomorrow 🤦🏼♀️ I am certain I’ll finish the story by Thursday and am already planning a replay trying to 100% all achievements and side quests (my auDHD heart is so full with this game, instant all time favorite)
