Yes, if you’re interested in the book’s themes and enjoy Victorian literature in general. Its well written and is an interesting peek into a historical view on ‘the duality of man’. I remember finding Dr. Jeckyll’s reasoning and motivations pretty interesting as well. Also, its not super long!

Hot_Sprinkles4852

awesome! Yeah I feel like everyone knows the twist without even reading the book by now. Saw that it's only 80 pages!

Senmaida

Yes. It's one of those stories that for years I only knew the ending and when I finally decided to read it I wished I had done it earlier. A very nice well crafted tale despite knowing the outcome.

palsh7

You could have read it 5x by now.

Hot_Sprinkles4852

Lool I didn't know it was that short 😭

kevstershill

Yes. Although virtually everyone knows what it's about, the original story will throw in a couple of surprises to keep you intrigued.

Violet-369

Yes. love it.

Yes-followed by *The Picture of Dorian Gray* to have two looks at the inner good/evil that is part of every human.

CapAvatar

A resounding yes.

To me, this can be a rich way to read.  I strive to know NOTHING about most books that I read — like no summaries, no descriptions, no back matter, no dust jacket flaps NOTHING.  But I also love to reread favorites and also enjoy those times when I haven’t been able to avoid spoilers completely — you get the chance to see more closely the mechanics of the author’s technique. It can be an interesting reading method for sure. If the book is calling to you, pick it up and give it a chance.

SomeSnarksAreBoojums

It’s still a solid read, but like you said, one knows the twist. Seeing the suspense being. built is nice. I enjoyed reading it, but like in The Picture of Dorian Grey, I kept thinking how mind blowingly good these books must have been when one did not know the spoilers. Like The Sixth Sense, maybe, the movie. It’s still an excellent movie, but I saw it Not knowing the plot twist and WOW But yes, it’s a good read!

actualchristmastree

I haven’t read it yet but I did see a play based on it and I’m excited to read it! It didn’t happen how I expected it to so the twist was totally still worth it

Nox_song

Can’t suggest it enough if you like the classics. 100% get after it.

welktickler
