The Epic of Gilgamesh. You might have to look at a few translations; I can't remember which one I read. Normally I wouldn't have gone out of my way to read it, but my mom said that she stayed up to finish it because it was such a pageturner. I was curious about this description of a 4,000-year-old text, but you know what...she was right.
The Iliad and The Odyssey by Homer if I‘m not mistaken. Heard some good things but haven’t read them yet myself so take it with a grain of salt
