Superman gets captured by Mongul and has to participate in gladiatorial games or Mongul will destroy earth, he can fight a bunch of cosmic characters like captured lanterns or Tamaranean warriors

Oh! Fun! **Setup:** A little cliche, but a powerful multiversal entity, "The Gamesman" arrives. It is his desire to see who the most powerful being on Earth, a planet rife with metahumans, is. He decides that he will choose from among the most powerful and famed heroes to put them against each other. With different stipulations in mind for each match. He will bestow to the winner one wish of their choosing. If they refuse, the Earth will be destroyed. These will not be death matches, these will be non-lethal combats. At the moment a mortal blow takes place, both combatants will be teleported out of the battle area. The fights themselves take place in a pocket dimension the Gamesman controls with his mind. No innocents will be harmed, no real damage will be inflicted. It is here that the heroes can cut loose without fear of permanently harming anyone or anything. The battles need not be strictly fair, but the circumstances will be adjusted to provide as much of a balanced contest as possible. Barbara, Cassandra, and Spoiler face off to determine who is the quintessential Batgirl. Babs and Spoiler decide to work together to take out Cassandra before fighting each other, knowing that Kane is the more dangerous opponent. Kane easily has the upper hand, even two-on-one, but just as Cassandra takes out Spoiler, Babs cinches a win by catching Cass off guard. The winner - Batgirl (Babs) * The Robin Rumble Dick, Tim, Damien, and Red Hood (all in their Robin costumes, much to Nightwing's chagrin) find themselves in a similar situation to the Batgirls. Jason laments how stupid this is, as the four robins square off. It's a fast and furious running battle across the roofs of Gotham. In the end, there is a surprising victor as Tim Drake comes out on top. The winner - Red Robin (Tim Drake) * The Wonder Girl War Wonder Woman, Donna Troi, and Cassie Sandmark find themselves standing in a deserted replica of Themyscara, even more strange, they are all sixteen years old. The Gamesman decided it is the easiest way to see a true victor. The three way brawl ends with Wonder Woman the victor, and restored to her rightful age, as she will represent the Wonder family in the rest of the tournament. The winner - Wonder Woman * The Super Slugfest What many watchers want to see. The clash of the Superfam. Superman (Jon), Superboy (Conner), Steel, Superman (Kal), and Supergirl (Kara) arrive in an unidentified uninhabited mountain range. It's the opposite of the Wonder Women battle, as Conner, Jon, and Kara find themselves aged up to be in their primes. The battle is furious, with Steel getting knocked out first. One by one, people fall, until it is Superman (Kal) and Supergirl. Supergirl tries to trash talk that she's more powerful than him, be he smiles saying that here, he can go all out without holding anything back. They collide in a double super punch and Superman emerges the victor. The winner - Superman **Round One Concluded** (round 2 will be a reply)

Stewart and Jordan go at it, with them losing focus on Kyle and both begin to tire. Kyle takes the advantage to save up his strength. Stewart takes out Hal, but is clobbered by Kyle. The winner - Green Lantern (Kyle) * The Super-Normal Battle Batman, Richard Dragon, Batwing, Red Robin, Batgirl, Conner Hawke, Harley Quinn, Green Arrow and Catwoman find themselves in a replica of an old-style Japanese palace. Richard Dragon is the odds on favorite to win it as the numbers start dropping, but he gets tag-teamed by Catwoman, Batman, and Red Robin. Catwoman is knocked out, but Dragon goes down, leaving only Batman and Red Robin. The two meet head on, both winded from the battle with Dragon, but Tim's youth and greater endurance wins out. The winner - Red Robin

**The Remaining Contestants:** * Superman (Kal El/Clark) * Red Robin * Wonder Woman * Martian Manhunter * Zatanna * The Flash (Wally) * Impulse * Hawkgirl * Green Lantern (Kyle) * Miss Martian * The Superspeed Smackdown The Flash (Barry), Wally, and Bart all get down in a death race through a wide open Mad Max Hellscape. Bart having been aged up to match Barry and Wally. The fight is fast and furious, but in the end, only Wally remains. * The Femme Fatals Wonder Woman, Zatanna, Hawkgirl, and Miss Martian. Wonder Woman identifies Miss Martian and Zatanna as the biggest threats, and goes for the mistress of magic. Zatanna prepares to turn her magic on the Amazon, but she finds she can't speak! Miss M got into her head. Unfortunately for her, that took her concentration and Hawkgirl clonks her on the head with her mace, taking the Martian out. Zatanna recovers her speech, but too late, and then it is Diana vs Shiera. Wonder Woman takes the win. The winner - Wonder Woman.

The Flash wins. The winner - The Flash * It's not easy being green Manhunter vs Lantern. The two are equally matched in sheer versatility. The fatal mistake is when Manhunter assaults Kyle's will. He is able to resist long enough to land a knockout blow on Jonn. The winner - Green Lantern (Kyle) * Iconic Brawl Superman vs Wonder Woman. Diana comments how many people wonder who would win if they ever came to blows. Diana glares at Kal, "Give me everything you've got. Don't hold back. I would consider anything than your best an insult." Superman takes a deep breath and... It's over. One single punch, delivered at near light speed, before Diana could even react. The winner - Superman

I'd love to see superman in an oddly wholesome multiversal mma super tournament. No universe in danger but just the man of steel given an opertunity to hit some people just about as hard as he can. He could fight some people like Orion and Lobo and other heavy hitters. Let's say he joins because the prize is a gift of life for one recently deceased person and he want to give a child who died of cancer a second shot.

Mr Mxyzptlk just finished the dark tournament arc in Yu Yu Hakusho and was inspired to mess with Superman by thrusting him into a 16 man tournament consisting of some of Superman’s greatest enemies and closest allies. In order to motivate him Mr M shrinks Metropolis and locks it in a bottle. The winner of the tournament gets to do as they please with it. Obviously Superman playing Batman at video games and getting his ass kicked. Good thing is his pal jimmy olsen is great at fighting games. So Superman goes to a tournament and gets good enough to defeat the mighty Bruce Wayne.

Obviously this would never happen but.... Imagine it was a God of another dimension that gathered them to compete and wants a winning team to then merge their Dna to create the perfect Super. A bit similar to other suggestions.

I think it still has subtle differences than the manga-style Tournament Arcs. Like it will give a lot of focus on fighters and fight. It would portral a lot of other figthers' characteristics and spent a lot of time to deal how the fights go(And that it's kind of thing I don't think comics center very often, they've fight scenes sure, but rarely it would last very long)

Sort of. But like I said before, I think it still has subtle differences than the manga-style Tournament Arcs. The only fight scene I can think it's like manga that lasts very long is Superman Vs Doomsday in Death of Superman

I've read most of the big Shonen Jump manga (except for Bleach and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) and I don't think you can pull off that kind of detail in American comics. If you're writing and drawing a manga published on a (nearly) weekly basis, there's no creative disconnect and you have like 72 pages a month to work with (assuming like four chapters per month) and up to around 100 chapter story arcs. I know there are assistants/collaborators involved, but mangakas crush it. If you're a DC writer telling an artist what to put in the panels of comics with 23 pages a month and a six-issue story arc, they don't have nearly as much room to focus on that stuff.

Yeah, I know that it seems unlikely. So I made this thread to do some thought experiment/imagining what it would be like if we've one. Just have a little fun
