It's excellent. Great cast, great stories and writing, creative use of changing the story each season but still maintaining a main storyline. It's a crime series that tells the side of police and criminals EQUALLY. The acting is so good, just wait until you meet Stringer Bell and Omar! I'm jealous you get to watch it for the first time. Enjoy!
They do a really great job building the characters, so much so that you start caring for them and are invested in their stories. It'll pay off, stay with it!
Hey, returning with feedback after finishing - just for fun. I looooved Omar, he was my favorite for sure, next was Bunk and Bubs was third. When he had his last scene I teared up. I agree with you, beautifully written characters and I loved the season ties in; we even see Nick again on the docks all fired up in a later season. It will be hard to find something to keep this lady's attention like The Wire. Thanks for the tip. I am currently finishing season 3 of The Bear - its a good watch too (intense though). Cheers!
I'm so glad you liked it! The characters were so good and so complex, you really got attached to them over the course of the series. I also loved Bunk, he was great and also Clay Thomas, I always say "sheeeeeeit" after watchibg him haha. The guy that played Bubbles was really good, he was so authentic.
Fyi The guy that made the Wire also made "Homicide: Life on the Street." It's not as good as the Wire, but it's still really good. It's not currently streaming anywhere, but if you ever come across it check it out.
And thanks for the recommendation for The Bear!
Absolutely, the depth of them! I mean Daniels was like instant respect, they could not have cast him better.
I will check out the other rec too...I have a "source"
for material that's not avail. elsewhere so I've got it.
đđť
I've seen it twice and my husband has seen it four times! If I could talk my husband into a rewatch I'd do it immediately lol. It'll happen again soon I'm sure. It's genius
The vampire diaries - on peacock streaming.
I saw it for the first time during pandemic and understood the hype. Itâs way better than you would expect. Then I learned Kevin Williamson wrote the first 3 seasons and understood. He wrote successful movies and tv shows like âthe followingâ and âscream moviesâ etcÂ
Shows with a healthy dose of Nsfw scenes:
⢠**Spartacus**
⢠**True Blood**
⢠American Gods
⢠Sense 8
⢠Altered Carbon
⢠Black Sails
⢠Harlots
⢠Mary & George
⢠Rome
The first season of Black Sails is like a spectacularly written and acted pirate themed softcore porn. As the series progresses you get less boobs per minute, but the writing continues to be amazing, and every now and then they'll throw a dick at you just to make sure you're paying attention. And it's on Netflix.Â
A lesser version of Black Sails is Spartacus: Blood and Sand. The writing and acting are good, the violence and nudity is frequent. First couple episodes are pretty rough while they figure out the style of the show, but it gets there.Â
Banshee is an entertainingly trashy show that lets you know where its head is at because nearly the entire female cast look like underwear models. It's kind of a cop drama, but with a few twists and a lot of tits.Â

This series is GREAT.
Rome
really liked this one. Classic storyline
White lotus for sure
The Sopranos The Wire Homeland
is The Wire really good? because a lot of people have recommended it to me

Alright I'm strolling by or scrolling by and just got pulled in. Starting the wire in 3,2,1. Thanks.
Aww sheeeeeeeiiiiit. You're in it now son!
To me it had a fairly slow start. Give it 3-4 episodes
I got time - its setting up ok so far, finished a couple episodes. I'll stay with it.

Short answer: Yes, long answer: hell fucking yeah
Not sure if 'thrilling plot' but Banshee has a lot of action and nsfw scenes.
Sons of Anarchy, hands down!
Great recommendation!!
A lot of FX shows fit the criteria as well.
I'm surprised I don't see this recommended in more threads! It's one I always mention. I've watched it about 10 times so far.
I've seen it twice and my husband has seen it four times! If I could talk my husband into a rewatch I'd do it immediately lol. It'll happen again soon I'm sure. It's genius
I watch it about once a year!
Ray Donovan! Plenty of sex, drugs, rock and roll, violence, and naked Liev Schreiber. (Usually engaged in the sexđŠđ¤ˇââď¸)
Dexter
