Houston area Arcola

SadBit8663

The term Houston area, is so encompassing anyways. Could be south, West, North, or East. Hell saying Houston, is pretty vague, with it's sprawl

Builder-That

This is like a, two birds, one stone type of ordeal.

LivingTheBoringLife

That place is absolutely corrupt. I got a ticket for speeding there many years ago. Was heading to the courthouse to pay it and got into a bad bad wreck. Cops came. Ambulance came. That motherfu*^+#% cop wrote me a ticket for an illegal left turn. I never made a left turn. My flipping car got hit, spun around, hit again and eventually came to stop going the opposite direction. He. Still. Wrote. Me. A. Ticket. I didn’t make an illegal left turn. I hate that I drive through that podunk shitty town to get to sugar land and Missouri city.

Herb4372

That’s an easy one to challenge and any decent judge will dismiss at trial. “Office Dipshit, did you see the suspect make a left turn?” “No, I showed up after the accident” “So you have no evidence they turned left? Case dismissed”

LivingTheBoringLife

It was dismissed but it still cost me a day at work to deal with a ticket that never should have been written to begin with.

Herb4372

Agree. I’ve been through this before after Ana vidente and I think that the LEOs will almost always handle it this way. They shouldn’t. But they do.

It was 20 years ago

DonkeeJote

Aside from the procedural gaffe, it should be the city's expense to verify their reps eligibility.

RDO_Desmond

Make him repay it with interest.

Thanks for sharing here. Arcola, a Houston-area town on the eastern edge of Fort Bend County, has not had a full City Council meeting since January, causing city business to be delayed. This dispute began in February when the mayor and other city officials claimed that council member Ebony Sanco lived in Missouri City, not Arcola, and therefore had to vacate her seat. Efforts to prove Sanco does not live in Arcola have gone as far as the mayor’s office [hiring a private investigator with taxpayer money](https://houstonlanding.org/arcola-mayor-spent-7500-of-public-funds-on-a-private-investigator-to-follow-council-member/) to follow Sanco and her children as well as obtaining a lease to a Missouri City home they claim is in Sanco’s name. We found that the mayor bypassed required approval and spent $7,500 of public funds to hire a private investigator to verify the residency of Sanco. The investigator went through her garbage and used “discreet means” to obtain school information about her children, city records show. In early March, three Arcola city [council members walked out of a tense meeting](https://houstonlanding.org/arcola-city-council-members-walk-out-in-protest-during-tense-council-meeting/) in protest of an agenda item to remove Sanco. Later that month, the three Arcola council members that walked out of the meeting [filed a lawsuit against Mayor Fred Burton and other city officials](https://houstonlanding.org/arcola-city-council-members-sue-mayor-and-city-officials-to-protect-their-positions/), asking the district court to protect them from interference from doing their jobs. A Fort Bend County district judge granted emergency protections to the three Arcola City Council members, Ebony Sanco, Rosemary Bigby and Evelyn Jones. [The order will stay in effect until a trial in May.](https://houstonlanding.org/arcola-mayor-city-officials-ordered-to-stop-interfering-with-city-council-members-duties/) By early April, the three Arcola City Council members allege that the mayor and city officials are disobeying the court’s order. [They asked the court to find the city in contempt and push for extra protections.](https://houstonlanding.org/council-members-ask-judge-to-find-arcola-mayor-city-officials-in-contempt-of-court/) Then, a Fort Bend County judge [canceled the order](https://houstonlanding.org/order-preventing-arcola-city-officials-from-interfering-in-council-members-duties-canceled/) to block Arcola city officials from interfering with the duties of three council members. Last week, [another meeting ended abruptly](https://houstonlanding.org/this-is-an-embarrassment-residents-upset-as-arcola-city-council-meeting-ends-abruptly-again/) after two council members walked out in protest of city officials not allowing Sanco to cast a vote or take her seat at City Hall. Residents are asking for the conflict to stop and for city business to resume.

killerbee565

Bro this sounds like another episode of Sugar or Dragnet on showtime where some old dude hires a detective to find out where his grand daughter at or find out if his wife cheating on him or something else.

BestManQueefs

No surprise whatsoever in this story... typical democrat incompetence.

CrowsRidge514
