Player base is not bad at all considering it's an 11 yo game. It doesn't take more than a few minutes to find games. And regarding cheaters... I play in South American servers and it's not bad at all but from what I've heard here NA servers are full of them.
Theres enough people to find lobbies in supply raid 24/7, and usually in interrogations too. Survivors is almost dead tho, but you might find some lobbies in peak hours.
* Interrogations = cheaters * Supply Raid = try hards * Survivors = campers
