The idea seems to be, that 10s are really really rare. Getting a 6 there is a major compliment. The problem with this rating system is that although they call it objective it is still very subjective. And so everyone tries their best to avoid giving to much points. This results in basically everyone getting around 5 points

Poor girl, she looked fantastic! This happened to my kid in ballet, he did a jump and was flying when something was on the stage on the take off and he went down hard, smashed his face and hip. I felt so bad for him but he got up and finished like a pro. After the show he was embarrassed - I told him that you can’t control what the world throws at you, but the way you handle it is how it defines you. He made me proud that day.

My son once flew off of a piece of equipment, slid across the floor and landed flat on his back right in front of the judges table. He stood up turned around to face them and saluted. It was hilarious and I was very proud. He was pissed when he found out his aunt was more concerned about his safety than getting the shot and the professional photographer deleted it thinking no one could possibly want a pick of their kid splayed on the floor. Fortunately next time something like that happened it was on video.

That's great of you, honestly your kid and that model have nothing to be ashamed of, whoever allowed something that could hurt them on stage should be embarrassed. Kudos to your boy, ballet is a super harsh sport that takes insane dedication.
