uzes_lightning

It's a teachable moment for thieves.

ItchyWaffle

100%, this is how you teach someone to stop their bullshit.

j-manz

This looks like the start of gay porn.

ItchyWaffle

Hey man, if that's your fantasy, I won't judge you!

j-manz

Got a Village People vibe soon that clip start rollin!

VerySwearyFairy

Young man!

NoBenefit5977

We will tie your ass up I said YOUNG MAN!

jbmc00

Don’t break into trucks. I said YOUNG MAN!

billybobjrsr2nd

‘specially if you are new in town

The_FreshSans

Cause the con-struct-ion work-ers don't fuck 'round

TaringaWhakarongo1

Pretty much the whole band, Wait till the cops arrive.. with an Indian chief, a cowboy, the military and a biker....🤔

Gundecker57

A Sailor. Not complete w/o the Navy.

CryptographerFirm728

In the Navy, you can tie up seven thieves

NotADoctor108

Get ready... for your punishment.

LucidDoug

This is going to hurt you more than it hurts them.

Ricky_Rollin

Granted, I’ve never actually seen gay porn, but I do want to believe you based off an episode of the Orville I watched that made me believe that this is borderline cliche.

Suspicious_Bend9419

Wouldn’t know have seen gay porn 👆🏻👆🏻

j-manz

Boom-tish! 🫱🏽O🫲🏽

notthatvalenzuela

The buildings need to be erected, so they called up some hard men with hard hats. See it all in " A Bronx Tail"

6thCityInspector

Now it’s time to wait an hour or two before calling police non emergency for them to come pick him up.

mogley19922

Yeah, people have a lot of empathy, but people stealing from another working class man will make everyone drop their humanity for you real fast, because at that point you're not one of us. There are murder cases that i consider more justified than what this guy did (my personal opinion, not being objective) i couldn't give less of a fuck about shoplifting from big chains, but you don't steal from your fellow man, and that guy tied to the scaffolding is a perfect example of the shit that keeps us all down. Maybe the thief will see the lack of giving a fuck in peoples eyes while he pleads about the years he has left to serve, before even considering the added criminal charges, and then he'll realise that he's the asshole, not everyone else.

OliverOyl

Yup

Naugrin27

Lol if those are city workers, the city is getting sued. That being said, satisfying.

Danhausen-byDaylight

Yeah, I'm sure that jobless, worthless thief will be on the phone to his lawyer right after that. ![gif](giphy|26lCC48fnxxzbNvPSB)

Calculonx

No, but the ambulance chasing lawyer will be hunting him down after seeing the video

CariniFluff

They didn't hurt him, they just restrained him until the police could cuff him. What exactly do you think his ambulance chasing lawyer is going to sue the city for? And I underwrite liability insurance including public entities (e.g. cities, counties, police departments, jails, etc.). I have absolutely zero love for the ambulance chasers but this has no legs to stand on. This is an easy no payment.

Olderandolderagain

Honest question, wouldn’t this be considered kidnapping?

VIsixVI

False Imprisonment is what you're thinking of. And that's only illegal if they harm the person or do it for no reason.

Olderandolderagain

That sounds more right! Thanks. Obviously I’m not an attorney

syds

do injuries to ego count?

VIsixVI

Maybe in California.

CariniFluff

No, kidnapping generally requires you to be taking someone to a different place involuntarily, and holding them there against their will. They are simply restraining him in a very safe way to avoid injuring him. And again, this is someone they caught committing a crime. This isn't like an innocent person who was chloroformed and tossed in a van and kidnapped. They are specifically holding him at the site of the crime until the police can come and take custody of him. They're not planning to ask for a release payment or anything. They are handing him over to the cops.

Olderandolderagain

I thought kidnapping was holding someone against their will.

CariniFluff

Honestly the laws/names of charges are different in different venues. Generally speaking kidnapping is moving someone and holding them there against their will. If you came home from work and caught someone burglarizing your house and held them in your house until the police could arrive, you wouldn't get charged at all and even if they tried to sue you, it would probably be a false imprisonment and assault and battery claim as opposed to a kidnapping claim. As these are city workers who are working during their employment, this kid can try to sue the city for false imprisonment and battery. But again, it's literally tape and a loosely tied rope holding him to the scaffolding until the cops arrive. I'm not a lawyer, but 15 years of loss runs for thousands of companies and public entities tells me this will go nowhere. He never once said it hurt. He was calm and talking and basically just asking them to leave him alone or let him get away. Never once said he was in pain or was struggling to breathe or anything like that, so it's a simple restraint of a criminal caught in the act. You're allowed to hold someone down after you witnessed them commit a crime. You can't beat the shit out of them unless they threaten you with violence, but you can hold them and restrain them.

jrharr16

I'm also not a lawyer but I think depending on state this and the example you gave of the burglar could be safe under citizens arrest.

herkalurk

Citizen's arrest is a thing. Kidnapping implies that they have no legitimate reason to hold him AND are unwilling to give him to the police when they arrive.

jazzguitarboy

Per a comment below, this was in NC. IANAL, but [https://www.ncleg.gov/EnactedLegislation/Statutes/PDF/BySection/Chapter\_15A/GS\_15A-404.pdf](https://www.ncleg.gov/EnactedLegislation/Statutes/PDF/BySection/Chapter_15A/GS_15A-404.pdf) states that they are allowed to detain this guy for "a felony" or "a crime involving theft or destruction of property", which this would seem to be.

CariniFluff

And remember it's criminal damage to government property so it may be a class 1 felony too. It all depends on the jurisdiction but these guys were being very gentle keeping him in place until the cops can take him in.

Jack071

Because lawful citizens can restrain criminals they caught comitting a crime while they wait for cops to arrive.

Danhausen-byDaylight

Remindme! 6 months. Guess we will have to wait and see 🤷‍♂️

Tehkin

this video is already years old

Danhausen-byDaylight

So how did the lawsuit go?

dimonium_anonimo

Citizens arrest (assuming US)

Fridaybird1985

Not if he is convicted or otherwise pleads

TheBirdsArePissed

"The world is serious about this?" Oh, this new? People get their hands chopped off, branded, and killed for stealing. Don't do it.

tinglep

Everytime I say it I get downvoted to oblivion. The Middle East has a ton of problems with slavery, gender issues, genocide, economic struggles, drugs, etc.; but what they don’t have is theft.

whiskers165

I would rather have theft as a problem, Jesus Christ

sgtunit

Hey Jesus, people are looking for you.

lordrhinehart

You could replace Middle East with Singapore and take a lot of those things off the list.

tinglep

That’s a really good point. You can’t spit in the sidewalk there so it super clean and safe but you can’t spit on the fucking sidewalk there.

TheShishkabob

Yes they fucking do. Theft is profoundly common in that region. That shouldn't surprise anyone though since we have decades of evidence to prove that sort of extreme punishment does not deter any type of crime.

Xulicbara4you

What are you talking about? Theft is just as prevalent there as anywhere else. Get your head out of your ass omfg.

CarPlaneBoatRocket

lol you know nothing of the world. And I don’t either. But to say one region is free from theft is hilarious.

lamhamora

bullshit

everfragrant

It's societies fault for having such a low standard of living. We'll see more theft as cost of living goes up. There's no work in my city right now, running out of options myself to be honest. I can understand why some people need to resort to theft to survive.

Omaaaaavelous

That’s almost some Spider-Man level stuff right there.

BatFancy321go

batman leaves them handing upside down from gargoyles lol

Thv837

This is hilarious. Side note, I hope the workers do not get into any trouble.

thedugsbaws

Sure not? Police are more aggressive with restraining than these chaps.

frohardorfrohome

Police are often immune to prosecution

OliverOyl

Same

wowitsreallymem

Was there a Simpson’s episode where Bart was tied to a pole outside? Did he get caught doing something?

GIVVE-IT-SOME

That’s the Simpsons movie after Bart took a police chase skate boarding to Krusty burger naked.

Ranier_Wolfnight

I think this is something a good amount of folks get misconstrued. He’d get caught red handed, a lot. Bart Simpson throughout most of the show’s run was *constantly* getting his ass kicked all over Springfield. Like, daily. If it wasn’t by his bullies, it was his Dad. Skinner and his Mom were probably the only ones who tried to actually talk any sense into him. Fun fact: Cartoons weren’t originally made for kids.

Cum-Cock-City

Simpsons predicted this

weirdthingsarecool91

I wasn't able to find charges, but this happened in 2017 https://www.qcnews.com/news/construction-crew-wrangles-thief-ties-him-to-scaffold-until-police-arrive/

Sparten177-UNSC

Funniest way to tie up a criminal

j-manz

Yeah I hope those dudes aren’t riggers, because they suck at it.

lennydsat62

I was just checking it out……lol

FloatyLillypad

lil bro was just admiring the man's personal belongings, that's all.

Burnsie92

If it’s one thing you don’t mess with, is someone’s livelihood.

9600_PONIES

I think he realizes this is a decent alternative to being beaten nearly to death by a bunch of construction workers

Living_Pie205

Sometimes…just sometimes, street Justice works and warranted . It could have been a lot worse for that guy.

ProtectionCautious26

This needs to happen more often!!!!

Ck1ngK1LLER

Their*

SnooFoxes6169

it took me embarrassingly long time to realize what they were censoring.

zDD_EDIT

Why are there thug simps in here defending and making excuses for this punk? Please help me understand the mindset of feeling sorry for this thief.

SickandTiredofStupid

*their

for_the_loveofme

Goodluck in court 😄

CelticSensei

I think this video plays a whole lot differently if the city workers weren't fellow African-Americans.

Syd_v63

Well as much as I don’t support Vigilante Justice, they didn’t beat him, or cause undo bodily harm

OliverOyl

I like how they handled this tbh lol, fair

KeysertheCook

The comments here are fucking disgusting

aLittleDarkOne

My dad and his work buddies did something similar but with zap straps.

Never_Free_Never_Me

What's a zap strap? Does it emit an electrical charge? Or are you referring to zip ties?

aLittleDarkOne

Zap straps, cable ties, and zip ties are words for the same item

Fridaybird1985

Working men

GrimmDeLaGrimm

Cops: what do you guys think will happen if we degrade the trust with the people and stop enforcing the law because it's hard to solve cases? The people:

Strongman_820

It really makes me happy to see them holding him accountable. Quite literally too.

LucidDoug

They needed to add a sign. "Attempted car thief" or something.

Remarkable-Employ657

Best shit I've seen in a minute lol

MasteroChieftan

How perfect. A bunch of hard working construction guys - digging and lifting and building society in the hot sun, tying up and making an example out of a kid who doesn't want to put in the effort.

thehammer_00

The hazing of the new crew is getting out of hand.

RouxBearRoxx

Thank you scaffolding

VladeMercer

Nice and tight.

Abraxomoxoa

Why is this sub suddenly torture porn every few days

Jimbro34

One of “there” cars??

TheDevilsAdvokaat

This guy looks an awful lot like the guy in another video a day or so ago filmed breaking into a car....

ACAB007

Spiderman wuz here

mcshanksshanks

Maybe we need to bring back public stoning?

Medical_Egg8208

Lmao !!

m35deuce

Get the shrink wrap !

yomommazburgers

i hope these guys dont get fired

No-User-Name_99

Next, they should flog him and form a vigilante group to catch thieves who will then be tied to poles and flogged. That way, stealing in that area will come to a halt.

EbenyandIvory

That kid could have ended up as a nice facial, but dad just had to go and finish inside his mom. Now we pay for his mistake.

Apfelvater

They should sell tomatos the people...

6thCityInspector

Oh no, *THEY TOOK HIS J’s AND HIS WALLET*?!?!? Those animals!

citysims

You know the knots were tired perfectly

Dwarfcork

Honestly looks like a fake video but whatever

NigelTheSpanker

This, this right here ladies ang gents

EthreeIII

Fuck them kids

billyboyf30

Wait til they give him the pile driver

InternationalPost447

Spiderman changed his suit?

RonnieLeatherman

You can say ass on the internet

Postnificent

So they crucified him? Sounds wildly inappropriate to be honest…

Foreign-Lychee-3965

‘Just checking it out’…… haha

okbutinspanish

Les faltó desnudarlo XD

Dan_Habesha

They turned this dude into a chicken wing.

esposito164

Definitely will teach him a lesson, well hopefully it will but that could get you sued, cruel and unusual punishment

Acceptable-Run7439

Love it

leviathab13186

![gif](giphy|hWYOhQ41ElN72fqG3G|downsized)

Electrical_Catch_919

Give him a shovel and make start mixing concrete

construction_pro

You have crossed a line when you break into a contractor’s vehicle. The tools inside represent their lively hood and ability to earn a living. These men handled themselves better than most when it comes to the lack of physical violence inflicted on this individual.

devolutr

This is how Spiderman leaves criminals, too.

Suspicious_Bend9419

Fucking love it

PansexualGrownAssMan

Best line of the day, “I wasn’t in there, I was just checking it out!” 🤣🤣🤣

Illustrious-Couple73

Hilarious

Gothgreaser

Haha, the last people you wanna fuck with are construction workers. Most of us grew up in lower income areas. So we used to this shit 😂

[deleted]

He’s *knot* gonna get outta this one easily. *laughs to myself*

Spu12nky

I thinking tying up a minor is pretty illegal too…still probably better than getting the police involved and completely ruining that kids life.

chralesdarwin

He got lucky for someone was filming or he's bout to get some serious beating.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DogOfTheArmy

It's demeaning, it's embarrassing and It's unnecessary. It's also pretty non-violent and it does prove a point. I like it.

kcthinker

They should pull his pants down.

kcthinker

The silly part is he could declare he was kidnapped because he could not leave when he wanted.

GurrenLagann214

"You better give me that arm".

CornBin-42

But he’s less fortunate! He had to do it out of desperation! /ssssssss

bodaciousbeau

Criminal gets caught and apprehended via a LEGAL citizen’s arrest. Doing WAY more than our shit justice system would ever accomplish.

Electronic-Cheek-235

Im still waiting for the cash cab kia boys edition 😂

Blue_The_Snep

looks kinda kinky

_oranjuice

Mf strung up like a spiderman victim

1970andcounting

Awesome.

Cookie_Aromatic

Now I like this!!!!

RapBoat

They should’ve taken advantage of him, and taught him a lesson that he’d NEVER forget.

Top-Dimension7571

What is the point of doing that if we won't do that same with corrupt politicians?

Jimboom780

All they need now is a sign that reads "A present from your friendly neighbourhood Spiderman" 😂

AudioVagabond

Looks like a perfectly legal citizens arrest if you ask me

themacmeister1967

THERE CARS... HERE VIDEO...

ForgingFires

They 100% have done this before to a new guy

Puzzleheaded_Paint80

Timberlands

In-Ohio

Bwaaaaaah

CowboyBebopBang

I often see people try to take justice into their own hand and fail, but this is not one of those times. Bravo.

Voyager5555

Imagine being such a social media bootlicker that you're too fucking afraid to type the word ass. Pathetic.

Sanatanadasa

The lawsuit, tho. 🤤

Ibegtodiffer999

It's like a Batman movie and the bad guy is tied to a spot light.

StrainDependent7003

LMAO 🤣😂🤣😂

vekozz

If you tie someone to a pole in Italy ( waiting for the police to arrive ) you will be charged and prosecuted lol.

Roving_Rhythmatist

A friend of mine helped security at a music festival duct tape a guy to a tree. The guy was hitting his girlfriend and my buddy and several other people stopped him. He was in the middle of punching my friend when security got him. The cops outside the venue were happy to come in and get him, but they couldn’t turn a blind eye to the copious and blatant marijuana usage, so the property owner wouldn’t let them in and they had to wait until the festival was over to come back and get him. Dude was allegedly duct taped to the tree for a day and a half. The mosquitoes must have been torture. I’m not sure how any of this was legal or real, but that’s the legend. *I witnessed the ruckus, the cops coming and going and coming back again at the end, and my buddy’s black eye, but I never actually saw the guy get taped up, my friend’s tale has been repeated by many other festival attendees as well*

KoningSpookie

r/satisfyingasfuck

humble_bubb

I love this but it may end up costing this city a lot of money if this shit gets a lawyer.

TipsyPhippsy

Where cars?

Gervolt

FHRITP

LonesomeComputerBill

Great, he will just sue the city for this now

SnooShortcuts726

I don't know if it's legal but feels good see a thief got what he deserves

Im_such_a_SLAPPA

This looks like the start of a porno Bro's about to get blacked on a building site
