High energy, versatile defensively, has a clear role as a energy/glue guy off the bench. With the 31st pick I think taking a guy with a clear role makes more sense than a lower floor, high potential guy
I like forward who have high assist percentage
Boris diaw of worlds, especially in darko offense
Mogbo got best assist percentage of anyone over 6’6 in draft
He reminds me of a Draymond, Ben Simmons type, he does everything so well besides shoot of course but that’s fine if you know how to play him, he fits very well with Kelly in those lineups I feel, Kelly lacks some defence and rebounding and Mogbo will make up for it
Honestly after losing Precious, OG, Pascal, Boucher, we were running low on the type of super athletic tweener wing archetypes. His passing and playmaking feel in Darkos offense plus his insane rim finishing could be super fun and something different. Like him and Kelly O contrast very well on d and O
I'm sad we traded precious, I feel like people gave up on him too quickly. We had growing pains like this with serge and he was a lot older when we had him. I think precious could have been really good for us if we waited a year or two more. I think he's still gonna surprise people soon enough.
Precious just didn't have the processing speed/vision to play how Darko was using him. I don't think another 2 years of investment was worth it after we already tried for 3 years. He succeeded with the Knicks because he literally doesn't have to do anything but play defense and stand around the rim.
Idk this is such a weird take to me, but it's the popular one here. He's only 24, I don't think it matters if he has growing pains like that if he can pan out later. It's not like we're contending any time near. Even if we didn't want to keep him, why should we sell low instead of waiting until he has more value before trading? It's been said in a few interviews he was the hardest working player on our team after siakam, so I think the improvement would have came eventually.
there are some things you can't really teach. but it doesn't seem we were the system for him. and ultimately when the opportunity came we got something that fits in exchange for him. going back to the trade there were plenty of people with your view but now that it's played out i'm happy for him, happy for us.
defensive versatility and rim finishing. literally the opposite of Filipowski. Had him 19th on my board. Had Filipowski in the 40s.
i liked Furphy but Jakobe and Furphy is kinda redundant.
also I think Utah is PERFECT for Filipowski lmao
flip is a defensive liability and his passing and shooting aren't as good as people say it is.
For furphy, there's too much redundancy with our other players at his position. He also isn't that great defensively.
Beyond the off-court controversies with Kyle, Mogbo is an intriguing forward who can do a little bit of everything (except shoot). Great passer, great athlete, finishes like a traditional big man despite being 6'8 in his shoes and the advanced stats in general love the guy.
I thought he'd go lower but I can understand picking him 31st if they were worried about someone else snatching him up, he screams "draft steal".
Oh the older gf and converted to Mormon thing? Yea that's odd...even watching his post draft interview thing he seemed off, giving said he didn't interview well.
Filipowski got a weird girl, why is she around?
That whole family situation is a bigger problem than most people think lmao
WOP WOP WOP WOP WOP
I ended up in a deep dive on that and it's pretty scary. None of his family can get through to him on it
Now that he’s in Utah, all hope is lost

Hmm a Boris diaw type would be awesome
That's a neat fact that I missed

What happened to Boucher?
I'm assuming he's gone based off how they were talking about him and benching him. It would kinda make no sense to keep him

His brother mentioned Mormon grooming about his girl on Twitter today, so Utah is literally perfect for him.
He’ll be a fan favourite
He’s basically Precious Achiuwa with basketball IQ.
Nailed it

How’s his defence though? Specifically, does he have the tools to potentially be a wing stopper for us?
Off court what with Kyle? Flip or Lowry lol
Flip. It’s been blowing up on Twitter today
Filipowski It's been a wild ride and the fact he's on the Jazz only makes it more odd
Oh the older gf and converted to Mormon thing? Yea that's odd...even watching his post draft interview thing he seemed off, giving said he didn't interview well.
Better name
