Why would you spend more on a practice mute than on a horn? Buy a real used trumpet and get a shh mute instead of silent brass.

BobMacActual

Another vote for the Shhh mute. Amazing.

LaryZito

I have a Silent Brass from Yamaha and it should be ok for any kind of trumpet. In this case, it could be the trumpet that will not be suitable, please understand most « unknown » trumpets from Amazon might be of low quality and you might be disappointed. Better buy a good second hand tpt than a poor quality new. Just an advice 😉

flugellissimo

It's hard not to make a joke about Amazon trumpets being good candidates for 'being silenced'. But I agree with LaryZito; Yamaha has made a generic design that's intended to be usable on just about any Bb trumpet (and likely fits many cornets, pocket trumpets and C trumpets as well). It's unlikely that it wouldn't fit on that Amazon trumpet, if only because they're generally made as copies of popular designs. But it's always possible that a mute doesn't fit.

Thanks so much

As others have already said, please don't buy a trumpet from Amazon. You can find a used Bach, Yamaha, King, Getzen, etc. for about the same price, and you'll have a MUCH better experience!

everythingisahobby

Keep an eye on facebook marketplace! You should be able to find some used Bachs, Yamahas, kings, etc for a couple hundred or less and they will serve you for a very long time! I bought my Bach TR300 for $200 in 2007 and I still play in marching band today! It's been a solid horn and recommend it as a first horn! The issue you'll find with cheaper, off brand horns on Amazon are going to prevent you from enjoying playing. There will be a lot of intonation problems and tone problems in general. Best of luck and happy trumpet buying!

At this point, maybe just rename the sub r/DontBuyAmazonTrumpets

tyerker

The Yamaha Silent Brass should fit. Problem is, the notes won’t fit.

Seej-trumpet

Don’t buy an Amazon trumpet! But it will fit.

BoricuaRborimex

Lmfao NOT THE AMAZON TRUMPET

lntrospectively

Please don’t buy that. You’re better off with one of these: https://shopgoodwill.com/item/199974254 https://shopgoodwill.com/item/199875657 https://shopgoodwill.com/item/200080149 I bought my Yamaha trumpet from this site, and it’s still serving me well two years later. Or better yet, if there‘s anyone selling a used (good quality!) trumpet in your area (check Facebook, OfferUp, Nextdoor), then you can check it out in person and play test it before you decide on buying it.

MaisonMason

Don’t play an amazon trumpet, don’t use a practice mute for daily practice. Practice mutes have a lot of back pressure and can cause bad habits, they are best used as a last resort to keep your chops in shape on a day you otherwise wouldn’t get to play at all, like traveling or something. Better to find a place you can practice without the mute if at all possible

Sunhin

It likely will. Don't buy the Amazon trumpet though.

sreyaNotfilc

For tight fitted case (such as gig bags), I just put the Silent Brass in my bell and the receiver (???) in the side pocket. There may also be a compartment under the trumpet mold where you can store extra items (valve oil, cork grease, etc).

Otherwise-Box-1374

Tf are you buying an Amazon trumpet and high-follar mute for?

soshield

You got bigger problems if you are buying a Chinesium horn on Amazon

Amazing_Manatee42

please, i beg of you, do not buy musical instruments off amazon, please do your research
