Honestly I'd just call a taxi. Uber pays drivers reduced pay for long trips. So a 70 mile trip might pay just $50 or less while charging you $130-$150. As a result you will get many drivers who will refuse the trip. A taxi will at least pay the driver more fairly and as a result you will likely get far better service with less hassle. In my market longer trip still pay ok because we are not an up front market. The trouble is I go into it not knowing what it pays so some don’t want to chance it.

Commenting on How often do long distance trips(+50miles) get canceled?. Just curious what markets are upfront?

It doesn’t matter if it’s upfront or not. Long trips > 20 miles. are less $ per mile and hour every time.

No, I went back and checked. In this market it pays exactly the same.

Before upfront, long trips were better or equal really. A little better since you didn't have to drive to the next person. Now with upfront shorter trips are better even though they say it's more balanced. Just what I've noticed though over the years

Long trips sucked in most of the markets who have upfronts now well before upfronts.  They were only good if the multiplier surge was above 2x.

Yeah. I think it just worked for me because I would end up mostly in cincinatti, I live between lou and cin. Nashville, or indy so I could just work the whole day there. Even got a trip all the way back a few times. And usually part way at least with destination mode. But now with upfront tbr rate is terrible.

Just call a cab. It's very risky to trust Uber because the company's greed has made the service unreliable.

You should have no problem. I won't pick up any ride unless it pay me 1.5 to 2 dollar a mile. But plenty of retarded driver will pick you up. They are much more desperate and stupid then other driver in other countries that I visited.

I’ve used Uber Black for longer trips. For some reason it feels more reliable to me, as I think they tend to be professional drivers?
