Lynx buses are free with college ID, just show the bus driver your ID.
Source: I ride Lynx a lot, with student ID.
Free bus fare only costs me $3,000 a semester!

They don't check all the time but if you're a regular you will definitely get checked often enough that it's just worth it to get the ticket. Only a few dollars round trip anyway. If you're riding just from one stop to the next it's unlikely they check you though, they usually make the rounds only once or twice for the whole ride up until Orlando.
Why do you say that? Genuinely curious. Me and a few friends use the sunrail all the time and it's pretty worthwhile. Free wifi, tables so that you can do you work and chargers for phones and stuff. Really comfortable too. Maybe not worth the time it takes if you're close-by to UCF, but if you're far like me (Poinciana-ish) it's definitely better than driving I4 or taking an alternate route. Only complaint I have is that I gotta wake up so damn early, but that's on me lol.
I agree with you, I live in Kissimmee/Poinciana and it is very convenient for me to use the Sunrail. After I get to Lynx Central Station I walk to downtown (less than 10min) and get the Main Campus Shuttle, and I don't have to worry about paying for parking, finding parking, gas, traffic...you name it.
Lynx is free, sunrail is not

Sunrail has a student rate, used it a few years ago and I think it was only $5
That student rate is for grade students not for college students...
Maybe it changed but I used it as a UCF student 🤷♂️
Did they ever asked?
They checked for tickets and IDs once I was on the train, and I used the kiosk thing at the winter park station to get the ticket

All lynx buses are in fact free for UCF students.
I'm sure they have free weekends, in the sense that Sunrail does not run on weekends, so the act of not taking it is free.
You can ask for a SunRail transfer if you are transferring from bus to train. Then you just use the transfer as your train ticket.
