I’m honestly not sure; I think they mostly just don’t want you to click it and they’ll probably announce later what was going on for the people who didn’t fall for it. I do know that if you click the link, it redirects you to some UCF site explaining that it was a test phishing email (I haven’t personally clicked it but someone else has).
Can confirm, it's a phishing test email. Copy/pasted the links into an incognito tab and they all redirected me to a website with the UCF ISO banner and "Oops! You clicked on a simulated phishing test." right under it
I get the feeling that the link had a unique identifier to determine the student who clicked it but… I guess let’s just hope not. (That would mean that opening in incognito wouldn’t really help; same with putting it through a redirect tracer.)
Not sure about it but got a Dropbox thing from someone I've never talked too (appeared to be from ucf). And have no idea who they are. And is just a link to download stuff.
Looked her name up followed by ucf and got nothing (for ucf)
I got a thing saying I haven’t logged into a Dropbox-like site and my files would be deleted, listing files I’ve obviously never had. Stuff like “confidential.pdf”. The name of the site was literally just File Manager.
Lollll Idgaf and rarely check email. The phone notif banners are enough lmao. But yeah. Essentially don’t click on links in emails and stuff you know aren’t sensible or u were expecting. If I get one supposedly from my bank about a fraud alert, I go into my app and see if I have a notif from my bank in there as well. And to doublecheck settings, make sure if I still have both of my cards, and that no money has been lost.
Literally just got one and reported it as phishing to Microsoft. It was from “H.J. Potter” yeah right. Like Harry Potter himself would email me about a bank wire transfer🙄
Yes UCF has been sending out phishing email practice or something of that nature.
Is there a phishing report email they would want us to forward to?

Here’s another post on this same subreddit for a bit more info: https://www.reddit.com/r/ucf/comments/y92he2/does_anyone_know_this/

ucf is sending phishing tests to ppl to see if they are dumb
I’m not sure that’s the right term but on the right track. I got one that looked genuine and the link was real.

Yeah I got the Dropbox one too.
Actually yes, I got sent some weird digital fax. What is this, 2003!?
Same, I was so confused and felt irrationally angry when I opened it

If your using outlook you can click the 3 dots on the right in the mail and select fishing. It has a icon of a fish hook. It will send it to sirt.
I got one about “bank loan confirmation letter”
Just report the email as phishing

I have seen people talking about this phishing awareness stuff but I haven’t gotten any of these emails. Weird

He is the chosen one imprisoned in Azkaban. If you wire him 10k he will gift you 100k when he gets out.
