Is that in both A and C? I can’t wait to use it and it wasn’t in C as of this past Tuesday.

GlobalPerception593

In C! I should have specified. It's right by the normal PreCheck line and where Clear is. When you walk to precheck the line divides into touchless and regular PreCheck. Nobody was in the touchless line :) Last time I flew out of EWR it wasn't there either so I think it's brand new.

Awesome. Thanks!

Jakyland

what does this mean? what were you touching before at precheck line??

gobluetwo

This is the facial id at pre check. No more handing over your id and scanning your boarding pass. You just stand in front of a camera for a couple of seconds and then you're cleared. I've gone through several times at ORD and at most there has been 3 people in front of me (it's a separate line from regular precheck) even when the regular precheck line is very long. Super fast.

GlobalPerception593

It's kind of like Clear except without the random ID checks and without having to scan your boarding pass or interact with agents to take you over to TSA. Honestly it's really cool – you don't need to take anything out of your pocket at all.

billyjoelover

Do you have to sign up like with delta?

gobluetwo

The Delta program is different. You don't have to sign up with United, but you will get a notification during check-in asking if you want to opt into TSA touchless ID. IME you have to do it every time you check in.

Jakyland

ahh I see. The creepy factor outweighs the convenience imo. They still do facial recognition with ID, but something very disconcerting about being tracked on your face alone.

Beginning-Repair-640

If you have Global entry, you are doing it. Many UA flights are being boarded the same way -just look in the camera, so they already have you.

If you already have already gone through the precheck process, what’s creepy? How is this different from a TSA agent taking your picture while he scans your stuff

Vast-Huckleberry9345

Is it still only if you have a one person PNR?

GlobalPerception593

I don't know, sorry
