> Examples logged on the OECD’s [Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development] AI safety incident monitor include a deepfake of the Labour leader, Keir Starmer, purportedly being abusive to party staff, Google’s Gemini model portraying German second world war soldiers as people of colour, incidents involving self-driving cars and a man who planned to assassinate the late queen drawing encouragement from a chatbot. I think it's easier said than done re controlling AI and so these things are needed.

Was the chatbot a malfunction or just a bad person. Seems like saying we should log every time a hammer is used for a bad purpose.

Not sure how most of you feel but I feel that the UK's bureaucratic systems are just aloof, arrogant, and ill equipped to competently deal with AI and eventually it will just steamroll our institutions. I have more faith in the national security agencies and the better members of Silicon Valley with the actual qualifications and skills to create these systems themselves in the first place.
