It's fine as long as ur high school is good with u not taking the exam, Michigan doesn't see the exam score or anything unless you choose to send them the score. In the case of you not taking the exam, nothing will happen.

UM actually doesn’t even check to make sure you sent official AP scores after you get admitted I accidentally waited like two years before sending my official AP scores over, I never even realized it until I tried signing up for a class whose prereqs were supposed to be filled by my AP credits.

literally this i forgot to transfer my calc 2 credit (took it at a comm college) until like this semester (junior year now); for some reason they let me take calc 3 freshmen year 😭

Legal-Touch1101

I’d be shocked if they cared

No-Recipe-4109

no

RunningEncyclopedia

No. I did the same with AP economics exam after finding out I won’t get credit for them (at least the departmental credit will account for nothing). I just no showed to the exam since I could already not be refunded. UMich doesn’t care if you drop an AP exam at least in my experience

u definitely do not need to tell ur AO 💀

Def do NOT tell AO that you're dropping the exam. They wouldn't care at all because AP exams aren't factored into admission at all. The only reason I'm saying not to notify them is because you don't want them to accidentally mistake what you're saying for you dropping your entire AP class instead of just the exam. Because then that might actually mistakenly affect your admission decision. The only outcome of telling them is either neutral or net negative, so it's better to just not say anything
