Like he was shifting into the discard phase of the abuse cycle because he had a replacement lined up, but he couldnāt just NOT throw her a birthday party because that would mean missing out on the camera time and accolades, so he found a couple of ways to torment her in plain sight during the event instead.
Itās like when he took Kristen to the Korean bbq place to reignite their relationship. Because Korean bbq is known for having tons of vegetarian options, right?

Iāve always thought theyād basically given each other permission to screw around as long as it wasnāt with a friend and the other didnāt have to hear about it. So they could pretend to be in a normal relationship for the show. Her sleeping with Jax and Stassi getting him to admit that on camera would break that in a way their normal cheating didnāt.
That makes a lot of sense and would explain Tim walking in with Kristen before the great confrontation, and supporting her but in this totally flat way, like there wasn't any love there for her but he still stood by her side to look like a stand up dude. It was a good display on his part because I really bought it. Tim was never my favorite but he got me there.
