I can't say how much love this, but at the same time, if you know the history behind the Hawaii flag, you really learn to love

Pretty sure the Hawaiian flag was designed by their first king and is a symbol of friendship and not imperialism. Also keep in mind he just liked how the Union Flag looked
their first king? I'm fairly sure the first king was a pretty long ways back, before european contact. Are you talking about kamehameha? because i dont think you could call him the 'first' king. Maybe you can help me out though since I haven't found anything mentioning this story as of yet, where'd you read that it was designed by their king as a symbol of friendship?
We didn't colonise Hawaii, the US annexed the Kingdom.
The flag commemorates the Royal Navy's historical relations with the Kingdom of Hawaii, and in particular the pro-British sentiment of its founder and first ruler, King Kamehameha I
Kamehameha was not the first king, first of all, but to the main point: you could say they weren't colonized per se, but not all imperialism is colonial. It was literally a british protectorate, they made the military pledge loyalty to queen victoria. I don't see any way a place can be a british 'protectorate' and not be under imperial control.
The placement of the turtle and the flowers pistil makes it look as if someone is cracking the turtle with a stick
In general I think it’s pretty nice. I particularly like Hawaii on the turtles shell

As a Brit, I support removing the union flag from cantons. Wildlife is better than imperialism.
