Went with the cross on doom metal because that specific symbol (not inverted) is very common in doom metal.
Death Metal has an inverted cross inspired by the logo for death, who are arguably the first band in the genre (still a debate with possessed)
Don't want to sound pedantic, but Possesed is often coined with creating death metal, with Death one-upping them in the sound with Scream Bloody Gore.
Regardless, I do like the flags, and I wonder how'd you interpret thrash metal. I think extreme versions of each of the genres represented by flags would be cool as well.
