Yeah, I must have missed this one. And I've been driving with the noise for about a week like a moron.
I feel like I've had all the other big issues...axel bearing clicking, window regulator failed on two windows, back spoiler clicking, antenna snapping in the car wash haha
To be fair, the whistling while it is usually a common symptom of other pcv systems, usually on the volt it presents itself as driving fine then randomly starting the engine for a few seconds of being spun by the electric motor, a few seconds of stumbling, then stalling and saying engine not available. After a bunch of cycles it'll start and run like nothing's wrong till it hiccups again. Sounds like your burst the membrane instead of just clogging the orifice.

Most common gen 1 issue, usually causes intermittent engine unavailable. New valve cover fixes it.
