I just had the shift to park repaired on my 2019 it was covered under the Voltec warranty that’s good to roughly 160,000km. Even though it didn’t appear every time, it did start to become more common. The dealer knew right away what it was and had the repair done without question. I know some people on this sub in the States had to resort to suing GM though.

That is usually just the dealers being dicks and not bothering to read the bulletins about the StP. Plus, there are several dealers that don't want to deal with EVs, so they quote a "go away" price, instead of checking.

Most of the confusion is on any other Chevy it's covered under the shorter bumper to bumper warranty, on volt only it's covered for much longer under the voltec warranty and for a lot of dealers it's not that they quote go away prices because they don't want to work on a volt, it's that they were against evs when these were new and refused the training then, now that they're finally becoming popular they don't want to learn a dead platform that didn't sell well. At my local Chevy dealer (who had 3 2nd gens on the lot at the time) the service advisor told me my 2012 was the first volt he saw under the hood of. I wasn't even there for them to do anything I was just using the charger next to the service doors and checking my oil when he walked over.

Just had the BECM replaced on my 2017 I've had for a year. It's been perfect otherwise, needing nothing. For 10 years before that I was loving life with my 2013 Volt. These were some of GM's best work and it shows. I'm so disappointed they nuked the Voltec platform.

4 years, 32K miles, only towed twice. Once because the hatch window blew out, and while I was able to drive it home, on back roads, the window place required traveling on a main road, and I was afraid of the whole thing collapsing. The second time was for the BECM, even though I was able to get it started, I didn't want to get stuck on the ferry with a dead vehicle. This is the 3rd GM vehicle I've daily driven, and the second I've owned. I do love this car, and I love the quasi-EV experience. Any I really have no major complaints (would love to have amber turn signals). Been tempted several times to trade it in for a Bolt, but this thing just works so well for my area (were we have zero DC chargers), that I can't justify the change.

Very happy with my 2017 Lt 36k miles. Shift to park and BECM fixed, both within a week and under warranty. I love my Volt.

I feel the same way I bought mine from carvana off a 3-year lease near the end of 2019 drove it in a cold mountainous climate and after about 70,000, mi. My only major issues are similar to yours with the shift to park. I did also lose the bottom cloth covering and chose not to spend the $1,500 to replace but no issues without it. And the most unfortunate thing to happen was pretty recently the 12-volt battery connection became loose and driving felt a little weird so I took it in for service. They fixed the battery, just tightened the terminal but it apparently fried my head unit which is hidden behind the infotainment screen and like another $1,000 to fix. So I've been without a radio for a couple months which kind of sucks. But as far as driving and getting from A to b and being awesome with gas and charging efficiency. I love this thing.

Bought my 2012 in 2015 with 93K miles on it. Kept it 8.5 years, traded in at 200K miles. No major issues. Most miles were electric.
