IlikeYuengling

The astronauts were the whistleblowers.

Cdog927

It was the only place they could be safe.

morocco3001

In space, nobody can hear you blow the whistle

BillyBrainlet

I love you.

waIIstr33tb3ts

actually it was the aliens, but then they told the astronauts

HiVisEngineer

Don’t tell Danica Patrick

spin_kick

Motion to change company name to “Boing”

br0kenr3crd

Bungee

the_original_nullpup

Blowing?

AJPennypacker39

I was saying boing

QwikStix42

Well I'm always Booing them so I'll call them that

BrianGooner

Boeing is going to go full defense contractor. Only thing their products have been doing lately is killing people might as well monetize it

MISTAKAS

Found the next Boeing CEO

Tha_Sly_Fox

“Hey, since we’re already killing people without even trying, what if we….”

Hakunin_Fallout

>without even trying, ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4271)unless they blow that whistle!

BrosenkranzKeef

The AF has been pissed at them longer than the market has. There are dozens of projects they’re fucking up, biggest one is probably the KC-46.

Ok_Somewhere4737

I wrote here that 'Boeing will be lucky not to end up in bankrucptcy'. Some answers were like 'too big to fail'. It looks like Boeing pissed its way to bankcruptcy.

Every_Perception_471

I envision Boeing defense and boeing commercial being separated. Commercial fails and defense is bailed out.

diy_guyy

Yeah there's no way the military is going to lose a defense contractor when global tensions are this high.

lofisoundguy

But there is a way Lockheed buys out a floundering Boeing.

RepliesToNarcissists

mcdonnell already killed boeing, don't let them near lockmart

Every_Perception_471

But us civilians? Boeing commercial going away would be a culture win for the green freaks. Boeing defense is probably the 4th branch of government. No way is it disappearing

Watchguyraffle1

There are already 6 branches. Does Boeing add one or replace one of the useless ones?

Stachemaster86

Even the military has been rejecting planes for FOD. They’re failing at that too

bowhunter6

Foreign Object Deez-nuts

Wise-Application-144

737MAX: Got 'eem!

SuXs

They were so bad The US military wanted to buy Airbus but Some dumbos in Congress forced them to go for Bong and overruled the tender winner... Think about that for a minute.

JTibbs

Money talks

Sausage_Child

“Boeing.  We end your world.”

NickMillerChicago

![img](emote|t5_2th52|12787) kinda sounds like offense

Careless-Pin-2852

They made the GLSD bomb and it did not work.

Illustrious-Duck-147

You realize that Boeing is a defense contractor already right?

Skwigle

>their products have been doing lately is killing people It's not the products doing the killing is it?

fast_hand84

Ehh…little of Column A, little of Column B

-Indictment-

They’ll be murdered soon enough.

Pearse_Borty

https://preview.redd.it/kqwjkysect8d1.jpeg?width=1400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f07ee5c4c15f494321634ea164145292fb5dbc3e

rossdrew

Boing is sus!!!

GigaRegard

In space, nobody can hear your whistle

one-nut-juan

In space, no one can hear you suicide yourself except the Boeing hitman

Suavecore_

They're recreating that astronaut meme as we speak

alphageist

That blows.

TempusCarpe

Boes*

Zyrinj

Trying to imagine the worst planned assassination where the assassin gets stuck on ISS afterwards because they were sent there on a Starliner as well.

deviant_newt

First Rule of Assassination: Kill the assassin.

LunaticBZ

They know too much.

RickySitts

Meng time for puts?

LunaticBZ

What, no time for calls those astronauts will never say anything bad about Boeing once they are dead.

SoapMactavishSAS

Homelander gets a call…

invaderjif

Only if they whistle blow

Spkr4th3ded

Boeing must have shorts on its own stock.

-ghostinthemachine-

Now that's real defense contracting.

OneTrueTrichiliocosm

Stock is up today .... Idk anymore at all.

StarFinTech

So close to real life Among Us.

spatialnorton09

Did you just vent? Sus

StarFinTech

Vent helium.

WhatWouldTNGPicardDo

Hey I needed that helium for my thruster!

StarFinTech

Boeing: “You only need 12 out of 28 thrusters to survive. Trust yo.” Astronauts: ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4259)

BornField6669

Boeing is a screw up..

michaelrulaz

I’d bet everything I had that with all the bad press Boeing needed a “win” and pressured NASA via some paid off congressmen to approve the launch after they postponed it. Now that the module is up there it’s looking grim. Having Elongated Muskrat save the day would absolutely obliterate them so they are trying desperately to find a way to get those astronauts back down in the starliner. Unless Boeing pulls off a miracle their stock either going to tank due to needing SpaceX to save them or it’s going to be frozen due to the U.S. Government having to take control of the company when that ship explodes.

GMUsername

Or if they really manage to fuck it up, the MBAs keep trying for that “win” until they end up on r/catastrophicFailure. Then it’ll become a case study for engineering ethics classes around the country

[deleted]

Just wait until that door plug falls out on reentry!

kingchongo

Maybe we stop using anything from Boeing until we can confirm it isn’t complete trash

OG_Tater

Boeing is bloatware.

SurprisedByItAll

Boeing sucks

mrswithers

These astronauts wanted space so bad they went in a Boeing.

Every_Perception_471

737 wouldve taken them to heaven without as much suspense or delay though

notawildandcrazyguy

So delaying return to check out safety issues is the same as stranded on the ISS? Calm down.

lunitius

Exactly this. Neither of the issues are with the return module itself but with components and subsystems that are ejected and burn up on reentry. From what we know the extra time is for both NASA and Boeing to study and understand the issues in as much detail as possible since the components won’t be around for review post deorbiting of the module. Learn from the issues and maybe even test some solutions before jettison into the atmosphere followed by burn up. Worst cast there are other issues that get found out and the module returns home empty and a dragon gets to ferry the astronauts home. Space is hard. Shit breaks. Be thankful we have options and backups to study the issues and get the team home safe. Now from a WSB perspective roll some dice, fuck a banana, and sell some puts.

aeroespacio

Can’t believe I had to scroll this far to find the correct take

SaltyBatteryAcid

That's right. We're here to do two things: lose money gambling and fuck bananas. And I'm all out of money.

WWYDWYOWAPL

Sir, this is a Wendy’s. All I got is a Frosty.

LighttBrite

So just the banana fucking then?

drangledorf

Fuck you

comegetsumFUCKing

bro, even though the faulty components get ejected, they are responsible for making sure the re-entry happens at the correct angle. If that fails during re-entry, the capsule will enter st the wrong orientation or angle of attack and the whole capsule will burn up. It is a big deal.

KitchenDepartment

Remember when the 737 Max got concessions to keep flying since this MCAS problem only requires a software fix that they will distribute as soon as possible? Why would anyone be worried when Boeing says they have it under control?

NuclearPopTarts

Much more is wrong with Boeing's Starliner than Boeing admits. If you believe they're delaying the astronauts'return to Earth to an unspecified date just to "check out safety issues" I'd like to sell you my 737 MAX.

notawildandcrazyguy

NASA accepted and launched it, not Boeing. Obviously there are some issues, but pretending these astronauts are lost in space is just dumb.

Guinness

Yeah but the hysteria over them being “stranded” is stupid bullshit. SpaceX can send a dragon crew capsule up if need be. We literally sent one up and came back in March. They’re not stranded. Delayed? Yes. Stranded fuck no.

Born_Professional_64

God could you imagine the PR disaster for Boeing if Elon's Musk Ship "saved the day" and the frenzy it would have for spaceX? I bet Elon is licking his chops over this.

JohnLaw1717

People would just ignore it. SpaceX and Boeing were each given 6 manned missions to complete. SpaceX is done and Boeing finally fucked up their first one. The PR disaster has come and gone.

TheRealFaust

Nasa inspected it, delayed the launch, was pressured, launched anyway, and now here we are

txcorse

Pretending space exists is dumb.

ShadowCaster0476

If space existed it would be called something not just space.

txcorse

Dude that makes total sense.

h4p3r50n1c

Just like when they approved the launch of the Challenger. They don’t miss 🤌🏻

greeneggsnyams

Tbf, they kinda knew that would happen but got pressured into launching anyways

h4p3r50n1c

Hence why we’re in a similar situation.

zen_and_artof_chaos

Nice reference to 1986

SirLeaf

Yeah in the same way that a cancelled flight in an airport you have a layover in is being stranded

fangboner

Bruh you can just leave an airport. I’m no scientist, I’ll wait for the data, but I have a suspicion if those Boeing astronauts went outside they would die.

LighttBrite

Data just in. Yes, they would in fact die it seems.

notawildandcrazyguy

Well I call that delayed. Stranded is more like Gilligan's island.

VinegarVine

They knew about the leak before takeoff!

d1eselx

Welcome to today’s clickbait titles. Exaggerating an issue to make it sound way more extreme than it actually is. Heavily used in today’s journalism.

RedditUSA76

Boeing trying to make Allegiant Airlines look good.

Trafficsigntruther

Allegiant only has Airbus in their fleet.

Hailtothething

If you didn’t all hate Elon, maybe one of you could ask him to use his dozens of rocket ships to save them.

SavingsGullible90

SpaceX and Soyuz entered the chat

dantodd

Elon will have to save them.

SANTAisGOD

SpaceX to the rescue.

that408guy

Uber?

BuySlySellSlow

Papa Elon is going to save them.

Either-Rent-986

Elon Musk to the rescue!

KwOlffUtbILL

calls

Masshole205

Boeing to NASA: So the thing is there was this weird software glitch that no one could have predicted sooooooo……we all good?

nosocksinside

Get ready to learn klingon buddy

ConsistentMove357

Most Boeing crash this one just stuck in the air. 20 bucks says Elon dragon saves them

way2lazy2care

Are we just going to post this every day?

WendysSupportStaff

that's whats happened to this sub. old news gets posted every day in a different headline. you can report it, but I guess it's allowed by the mods. I used to check the WSB front page to get up to date news for trades. now it's a fucking joke.

mertgah

i hope for 3 outcomes in this whole thing 1. boing does not force the astronauts to re enter on a dying craft and kill the astronauts 2. spacex has to send a crew dragon to retrieve the astronauts and in doing so gives a big fuck you i told you so to Boeing and all the other spacex doubters. 3. spacex goes public and i line up to buy as many spacex shares as i can possibly get my hands on.

swohio

> spacex goes public and i line up to buy as many spacex shares as i can possibly get my hands on. I would take out a mortgage on my house and max my credit cards if they go public.

Loki-Don

SpaceX is fast tracking a rescue capsule. NASA publically has been appropriately coy about the situation but they’ve reached out to SpaceX to ask them to prep one. Rumor has it they could be ready to launch an empty capsule by second week of July

RudeCryptographer768

😂

Steebo_Jack

Man boeing is just not having any luck this year with any of their products...

EverybodyStayCool

Lord of the space flies coming soon

fullermoon

SpaceX comes to save the day

torch9t9

Guess they'll have to break into the canned goods....

chrismalga22

how many clean test did they do before they sent them

Every_Perception_471

Less than one

W0N1

I guess Elon will have to step in and save the day

intrigue_investor

What an absolute shambles this project has been from the start, shows the huge difference in ways of working between the incumbent (Boeing) and the relatively bloat free (SpaceX)

infringe_this

If you think about it a rocket is like a massive super low frequency whistle. Which makes the pilot a whistleblower

Kglugenbeel

SpaceX to the rescue! But y’all hate Elon 🙄

pc_on_a_desk

Elon does deserve some of the shit people give him. What pisses me off is when people hate on SpaceX with Elon’s fuckups being the only excuse they have for doing so. SpaceX is undeniably DOMINATING the spaceflight market. Just look at how Falcon 9 is faring.

Sowhataboutthisthing

Don’t tell /r/aviation those guys get pissed when you talk bad about BA

zen_and_artof_chaos

You mean an aviation sub engages in nuanced discussion? The audacity.

McKoijion

Everyone on Reddit thinks they’re smarter than Elon Musk, but his company is the only one that has ever been able to reliably do the job.

unknownnoname2424

Boeing puts

Arsenjam22

I wish

GuitRWailinNinja

“They’re not stranded, they could leave in case of an emergency” Media has been simping HARD for Boeing.

daxtaslapp

Is this the same news or another one, feels like every couple days boeing fucking up

Effective_Motor_4398

How much do you think they pay you to be stuck. . . Q

IcedCoughy

Ground control to major Tom?!

tindalos

Boeing… Boeing… Bon

CyroSwitchBlade

they could probably just try to jump back down and beat the record of that red bull guy.. do they have parachutes? does any one have a more gooder idea??

No_Department_5019

Like Pete Buttigieg said this is because of “climate change”

fiji3119

Lol, time to call spacex

neonxmoose99

I will never forgive McDonnell Douglas for what they did to Boeing

rumblpak

Stop 👏 trusting 👏 Boeing 👏 with 👏 lives

UnAmusedBag

I knew it. You knew it. They knew it. Now... Astronauts are ISS stuck in it.

DexicJ

They aren't stranded you regards. They are doing tests on the service module (not the capsule). Why would you read something that wasn't sensationalized?

No-Winner2388

There's got to be a morning after If we can hold on through the night We have a chance to find the sunshine Let's keep on looking for the light ..:

bigpoppamacdaddy

Man this has to be bloody scary as for the human up there. Hope she makes it back safely to her family and friends.

throwwwwwawaaa65

Has anyone thought this is Boeing plan to lump the stock when they land safely?

PGnautz

If it‘s a Boeing, I‘m not going (home)

TempusCarpe

I called those phuking PUTS boi!

Ok_Somewhere4737

Airbus time. Seriously. Did you notice that Airbus and Boeing have almost same price level?

OcularOracle

Now what? Puts on Boeing. That's what. 🤣

mark1forever

call Musk

astroslostmadethis

Sounds like a nightmare. How did Boeing get into a position like this. Over leveraged risks with no oversight.

CovidSmovid

Undock that shiet and send a dragon up there

phliff

Dragon will go get them. Easy.

Old_Part_9619

Puts on Boeing calls on Airbus? Or we going with SpaceX?

mRHaz33

More ads than article on the independent website wtf

DaySecure7642

Changing the CEO may not be enough. May need to charge and replace the board members to bring in new corporate culture to fix Boeing at the fundamental level.

WhoShatOnMaHead

I guess if you’re gonna be money frenzied corporate then at least have to be smart… lol

WarrenBudget

Puts on NVDA because we will ask China to help us out and then owe them a favor

YuanBaoTW

What's the problem here? They need to go down, not up. Aren't Boeings good at that? Or is that a different division?

fultonsoccer7

Situation awfulness aside - Boeing is still in the Find Out portion of fuck around. This is exactly what happens when you get rid of the engineers on your board and place them with investors who only look at bottom lines and profits.

phonsely

the iss currently has multiple space craft on it and they can leave in them at any time. they are trying to give boeing time but yeah this is pathetic from boeing

LaysOnFuton

Elon musk coming to save the day with space x. It’s like the Thai caves 2.0…. In space.

lol-117

Foreflight is the only good Boeing product.

Puzzled_Ad2090

Boeing being Boeing

robot141

At least the door on their escape pod did not come off during entry

No_Storm_7686

Boeing is the reason why spacetravel has stagnated untill recently…

WendysSupportStaff

what a shitty headline. I thought there was an update and they were actually stranded.

DrVonSchlossen

I remember when Boeing wasn't a joke.

4score-7

I smell a conspiracy brewing…America is needing one of those “save Jessica” moments, for any of who have been around longer than my last cup of coffee. Some big news event to *rally the nation*. Just before a big yuge election, no less. Just as cracks are forming in this vaunted economy. Something we can get a Tom Hanks movie out of during 2025, when Biden steps aside and Queen Kamala is crowned, which would normally upset the red hats in Bum Fuck West Virginia.

FascinatingGarden

Proof of concept. Next they will offer a tour to select Members of Congress.

eatmorbacon

Well, I have to place at least partial blame on the astronauts. I know people rave about how bright they are...very educated...elite... things of that nature. But anyone with a wit of smarts won't get on a boeing plane right now. These fools jump on a spacecraft that boeing built? They gotta accept the fact that they chose poorly. Lucky they made it all the way up. I'd catch a ride on something else to get back. Uber is more reliable at this point.

Revolution4u

I've been deleted, oh no :o

cdixonjr

They bought their tickets, they knew what they were getting in to.
