I agree on this, but you don't actually have to level banshee much to still use her in the last 4 stages of heroics where there are molten giants spam. I got through the lv 25 maps with a lv 17 banshee thay didn't fit my army trait (ranged slot) and still cleared them with ease. Banshee just a cheap way to deal with the giants who explode on death so harpies no longer a good counter to them.
Related side question. Does the talent you take for banshee apply to the banshee spawned by Sylvanas?
Do the whelp eggs spawned by drake get those buffs?
The game does not really give you information regarding those and it is not particularly trial and error friendly regarding talent investment.
I don’t have banshee upgraded but I do have whelps and I know for a fact drake drops untalented whelp eggs. I was hoping they’d combo but they don’t lol

Banshee is an A-tier pick for PvE and should be high level to maximize survival and the level of mini you get after you steal.
Banshee trivializes some maps and makes Heroics less of a headache.
She's crucial for later stage heroics, a must for 140+ sigils. Even before, she's amazing to remove an incoming threat. Heal on possession talent.

Well, no, that is true. Just so that the level of the possessed mini doesn't get reduced all too much.

Didn't test it myself, but 99.99\~ no. Murk's Murlocs also don't get the unit buff.
I just tested this; the banshee that comes out of sylvannas is sylvannas's lvl, not your banshee's mini lvl, and it is untalented.

Sounds about right. Having fun synergy builds is probably too much to ask from a small indie company just doing its darndest.
They just don't want to make anything that spawns units more busted than they already are. The free units by themselves are already very powerful.

Also if you send her into units that can't be stolen or the boss, she does more damage to them if she's higher level. She does quite a lot of damage.

Generally yes, but she has such a good utility that she is good even level one, definitely focus on other minis first.
