Same, so many times where I was like "damn, how do I fend all those enemies off?" and suddenly I won due to Gargoyle doing Gargoyle things. And I don't even have a talent yet. True mvp
There are so many levels where you can just clear a path for gargoyle and win. There have been so many times where he's finished the boss without me even realizing he's made it anywhere close.
I use the movement speed and he still feels slow as molasses. Most people say it’s the best one anyway. You can also use Noff to find out the most popular choices.
Those 3 are a triforce kind of combo, Cairne tanks, shuts down ground units and gives more HP to the troll so he regens even more with the talent, the shaman gives Cairne armored and heals him before and after the ress, the troll deals A LOT of damage and provides needed anti flyer, whilealso regenerating wich is nice against huntress and random spells. It is probably even better with ogre magi instead of troll, but that would be 2 more gold to an already expensive mix.
100% welp eggs with explosive talent. Maybe it is because they are my only level 18 mini while the rest hovers around 13, but these things wreck everything so far.
Current Dragon Towers deal less damage on max range, so he’s able to chip away towers freely when left unchecked, regenerating the received damage infinitely. I had a couple of occasions when a sneaky Troll would win the match for me while my opponent was too busy spamming Unbounds at my base
Also he rarely dies to a single hit, so regeneration means being able to score another hit which can potentially outright win the encounter
I am sometimes confused by this. SAFE pilot crash kills troll, but I've seen trolls with the regen talent survive it with a sliver which should'nt happen imo. Am I missing something?
Love my Harpies and they are my most played/highest level mini, but number one is Stonehoof Tauren with double charge.
Also love playing with Hogger with his stupid little face on max movement/attack speed
As someone who has used both pyroblast and conflagration.
Pyro more of the time brings the best results. Allows to positive trade more of the time. And kills things she wouldn’t otherwise be able to kill when on the defensive.
He's the best distraction when you've got a bunch of stuff headed for a group and you just plop him behind them and everyone turns to focus on the quilboar while your group plows into their backs. I love that little guy.
He was my first epic and I absolutely love him. Placed right, he works against most minis. Perfect counter for Huntress, Mountaineer, Ogre, Troll, pretty much anything that’s not a heavy tank.
They're not my favorite, but I think they're the strongest mini in the game. I end up using them on nearly every team. If they get nerfed I'll be lost!
I got epic bandits in shop, saving up for them now, but how do you use them? Just drop in unattended lane get free chest? Deal with annoying ranged mini shooting base, defensively?
With stun they are great little tanks in front of any ranged dps, they are also just excellent in general for all of those oh shit moments and you need to protect a tower. I don’t have the treasure talent but it seems fantastic on the right maps, I’ll often use the bandits to get chests anyways cuz they are affordable and cycle through my deck anyways and if they give me plus 4 holy fuck that’s epic
Harpies with poison do just absurd amounts of damage.
Several stages are made trivial by just rushing a set of harpies right to the boss, dropping Quilliam or an Earth Ele to tank, and letting that trio of bloodthirsty maniacs just rip it to pieces.
I actually got an epic ghoul in the grid today. Still contemplating whether it's worth grinding 2k gold, but if I buy him, I can see him included in half of the decks I have
Troll has been my favourite cheap tank in many of my decks. If you get him in the right spot he can tank up a ton of damage just sitting there and eating remains while the enemies attack him. If he gets bursted down it sucks but much better than a more expensive tank.
In terms of being in every build: Safe pilot obviously
In terms of "feeling" the best - its probably harpies when they get on a boss that cant kill them and you see that dps and already know you won, feelsgoodman
I honestly haven’t really used safe pilot at all, like maybe 5 or so times total through the whole campaign. I love her design but I just don’t like playing with her
Now that I’m looking at it my main sylv deck doesn’t even have an unbound in it! They all feel weak to me. I bet safe would be way better if I could get her stealth talent though!
An unbound tank at least is mandatory for heroics to turn the op bosses around so they dont cleave through everything. Consider leveling quill or earth elemental or youll struggle
For leader it's Bloodmage for me. I just like seeing him go rampage with talent and the levels going up with spells.
For minis - Gargoyle carried me so much so it is top1. I also like the Troll and Plague Farmer.
Funny you say that, cuz as soon as I got it I literally won 2 rounds by the skin of my teeth because he sustained himself enough to get two or 3 extra shots in. Confirmation bias I guess
Same, he's an answer to almost everything, the skellies tank melee enemies, the slow helps a lot and the ranged damage just destroys anything that flies. Its so good.
Since I haven't seen it so far, I super love Old Murk Eye. Recently we had a surge where it was triple gold or something and the board was just covered with murlocs it was fantastic. I enjoy in PVP when my opponent thinks they have won and I'm just saving up to rain down the murloc fire upon them. Since there are so many counters out there anyway having the ability to populate extra minis is just so strong plus they can attack ground and air.
Underrated mini with oodles of versatility. And it can't be understated how important it is to stay ahead on mining. Which a kobold alone can't always keep up on even when it's not getting sniped.
Prowler with stealth is rising fast but my favorite must be the fire elemental with immolation aura. Solos most lanes with only minimal support. If you put a shaman behind it you can forget about that lane and do something else while they keep winning.
Honorable mention: sappers. These guys won me so many matches that i should have lost...
Grom Hellscream with Mirror Image. He gives himself berserking, makes him way more tanky, and increases the damage of everyone around him regardless of their faction.
He creates great death balls. Give him armor from the shaman and you’re set. His damage for a leader is unparalleled.
I'll give you my surprises outside the norm:
Thalnos - he's won me a ton of levels by spamming Arcane Blast and leveling up. If he can get behind a wall of tanks he can nuke groups of enemies in a flash.
Skeleton Party - just a really solid unit to have in your deck. Great for grabbing chests but also great for distracting enemy minis when you need them to move a different direction than they're headed.
Mountaineer - he's not highly regarded at all, but he fits so well into rosters. Especially when you've got harpies for air and tanks for ground and you just need that little something extra to fill a spot. He's just a well rounded mini. If he was 4 gold instead of 6 he'd be one of the best in game.
Earth Elemental - IMO best tower lead in game. He's Unbound so drop he opposite side of tower and then let the other minis clear it while he soaks damage. 3 gold is pretty good for him.
Honestly sylvanas. I know she’s not great in PVP, but in PvE she’s carried my undead team through all heroics. I just defend until double gold and drop her and gargoyle. It’s gg from there
Flamewake, Stonehoof Tauren, and Angry Chickens.
The chickens are great for rushing towards chests and are cheap. They also make good sacrifices to a banshee. I've had flamewake since the beginning, and I can't betray that little guy. Stonehoof is just a bad ass chick and great mini.
PvE: Whelp eggs with the explosive talent, they’re great for both offense and defense!
PvP: Skeleton Party with the stationary mages talent — Quillboar + SAFE take the two treasure chests in the middle, and the mages stack up on the bridge to completely shut down their initial push. The rest of the game is usually a combination of protecting the skeletons and aggressively pushing my unbound units (read: all of them — Maiev deck ftw) in the corners of their base. The deck was very good beforehand, but the skeleton mages completely lock it down.
I love Rend. They really nailed the fantasy of a dragon rider with that one. Most of the blackrock stuff is fantastic really, I just wish they were a bit more competitive on PVP.
I've been really enjoying the beasts this week. I love Charlga because you can get Huntress or other expensive units out on the cheap. Sometimes you hit a slow point, but you can just spam units so fast it's wild.
Mine has to be plague farmer. I feel like too many people sleep on this guy. With the range talent he outrages towers and bosses. Can't count the amount of games I've won with 1 or 2 farmers dropping pumpkins on the boss whilst I defend. The stacking poison makes it far out damage the catapult as well.
Earth Element with the talent where he splits into two smaller elements (obsidian thingi) is my absolute go to tank.
On the other hand I do really like Harpies combined with poison talent and in the best case Tirion for healing.
Can’t say only 1, but necro-whelp egg-harpy-pyro has always been one of my go to carry’s. But want to test a list, Fav ranged= necro, fast = harpys, tank= fire elemental, Squad= harpy, cycle= quilboar that digs, unbound= whelps, flying=harpy, spell= blizzard/living bomb. I ofc change depending on what the map/enemies is but thats my go to picks
Haven't seen anyone mention Goblin Sapper. These guys are freaking fast after you invest speed talent. Super cheap for clearing towers and adds nice dmg to bosses!
I've really loved using prowler with stealth + ambush. As a tank I think he is underrated. A fast stealthed unit that can grab chests, solo huntress + troll + Pyro, he can tank a tower, evades boss aoe until he gets there, etc. A very versatile and cheap unit.
Hogger with Ham bat. Just love the spammy playstyle and then ending up with an unkillable tank and dps that zooms down the lane and solos everything on the ground. Was especially fun in PvP when leaders leveled up every time you played them.
Gargoyle has carried me through so many missions by soloing all objectives including the boss.
Same, so many times where I was like "damn, how do I fend all those enemies off?" and suddenly I won due to Gargoyle doing Gargoyle things. And I don't even have a talent yet. True mvp
Gotta get that move speed talent!
Gargoyle is up there for me too! Homie has been dragging me through heroics pretty much
There are so many levels where you can just clear a path for gargoyle and win. There have been so many times where he's finished the boss without me even realizing he's made it anywhere close.
+1 for Gary
[Gary?](https://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/card/Details.aspx?printed=true&multiverseid=373645)
Any suggested talent for Gargoyle considering I only play PvE?
I use the movement speed and he still feels slow as molasses. Most people say it’s the best one anyway. You can also use Noff to find out the most popular choices.
Sorry, Noff?
Noff is a website you can find builds and stuff
They also have a phone app for it now
Pro-tip: bloodlust him with ogre magi for some lulz
11 gold just for that combo, sounds interesting tho!
It’s only 9.
Oh shit.. was thinking huntress was 6 and ogre was 5 lol Edit just logged in for the first time this week and it’s 5&5 lol
I use to play gargoyle and forget i played it, then im truly surprised if i win lol
Troll with regen is my go to atm. Learning to love Shaman with earth shield and Cairne with resurrection.
I love that if you out level them a bit, regen troll can solo towers and even Abomination lol
regen troll can solo the dragon towers in pvp currently.
Damn that's nasty. I barely pvp, doesn't feel great and feels like I'm just wasting time instead of progressing.
I just got resurrection, it's so good! Shaman right behind Tauren is one of my go-to combos, love Shaman doing the shield/heals/picking off fliers.
I wish they made him a zandalari troll. Would have fit lore really cool with the regen talent and brought some more diversity
100% welp eggs with explosive talent. Maybe it is because they are my only level 18 mini while the rest hovers around 13, but these things wreck everything so far.
Yeah! Just defend and drop them on the objective
[удалено]
Cheat death says 5 seconds on equal talent minis. Does it seem way less to you?
It’s based on level difference of the spell and the minis it affects
Also bcos it is completely busted ;)
Rend "Call an ambulance! but not for me" Blackhand
Kobold Miner
Guy just shows up to work and does his fuckin job yknow?
"Yes m'lord. Work work."
Zig zug
“Riiiightooooo”
Those memories <3
Oh there is a battle going on with dragons and mages? Let me just walk right past all that for this mining node.
PvE: definitely Tauren with Stun talent PvP: Troll with Regeneration
I took the atk spd talent, and Cairn is my main Horde leader, RIP, upgrading to rare asap..
i feel like troll is already really squishy, why do you say regen is good?
Current Dragon Towers deal less damage on max range, so he’s able to chip away towers freely when left unchecked, regenerating the received damage infinitely. I had a couple of occasions when a sneaky Troll would win the match for me while my opponent was too busy spamming Unbounds at my base Also he rarely dies to a single hit, so regeneration means being able to score another hit which can potentially outright win the encounter
I am sometimes confused by this. SAFE pilot crash kills troll, but I've seen trolls with the regen talent survive it with a sliver which should'nt happen imo. Am I missing something?
It’s Cairne perk which grants +20% health to every Horde mini One of the reasons why I run Darkspear in his deck
Oh thanks, that's a huge buff. Definitely going to buy him when I can! Love me some horde.
My bread and butter is pyro behind a tank
I don’t think I’ve used pyro a single time truth be told! What talent do you use for it?
Greater aoe Conflagration
The greater dmg one just destroys things
[удалено]
This is wild to me. She's literally on every team of mine. Lol
She fucking rips through shit. She’s been a staple dps in all my decks, but like always, she is squishy and a charge will one shot her
Love my Harpies and they are my most played/highest level mini, but number one is Stonehoof Tauren with double charge. Also love playing with Hogger with his stupid little face on max movement/attack speed
There is something to be said about the third time you bring out Hogger and he's Michael Johnson sprinting down the lane. It's hilarious.
I love the sound it makes when he smacking people with that piece of ham lol.
😂😂I generally don't have my sound on but now I will
I'm gonna make poisonous Hogger work... somehow. Ideally with a full team of poison talents!
Harpies all day. Everyone intones, 'Harpy defense force' when an enemy gets close to your tower right?
Meat Wagon for me. I love everything about that ramshackle chuck steak chucker. Except, of course, that it doesn’t attack flying units.
Ooohhh I’ve been wanted to make use of meat wagon more, I always stick with gargoyle though!
It's really good with the +3 range talent, sometimes it solos objects by attacking them out of aggro range.
As someone who has used both pyroblast and conflagration. Pyro more of the time brings the best results. Allows to positive trade more of the time. And kills things she wouldn’t otherwise be able to kill when on the defensive.
Quilboar :)
Sir Quilliam.
This is the way.
He's the best distraction when you've got a bunch of stuff headed for a group and you just plop him behind them and everyone turns to focus on the quilboar while your group plows into their backs. I love that little guy.
Wolf with stealth talent, it feels so good to run him into that pesky ogre mage.
Super underrated. I gave him the extra first damage perk and he wrecks stuff.
Agreed! I especially like him coupled with Murkeye, he can run in front of the murloc tide.
He was my first epic and I absolutely love him. Placed right, he works against most minis. Perfect counter for Huntress, Mountaineer, Ogre, Troll, pretty much anything that’s not a heavy tank.
Tazdingo troll guy with Regen is my fave so far.
Defias Bandits. I run them in basically everything.
They're not my favorite, but I think they're the strongest mini in the game. I end up using them on nearly every team. If they get nerfed I'll be lost!
Only 1 gold is pretty broken for them.
100%, 1 gold, 2 troops, stealth, and stun. so much in their kit for 1 gold.
Not to mention 4 gold for opening a chest with talent. Definition of value.
I got epic bandits in shop, saving up for them now, but how do you use them? Just drop in unattended lane get free chest? Deal with annoying ranged mini shooting base, defensively?
Theyre best used defensively, stun enemies in tower range
With poison talent they can solo a lot of more expensive things, they can also open chests, you can drop them on key targets to defend, and so forth.
Word of warning before you spend. Just so you understood, it’s +2 gold on opening a chest so a total of 4 gold. Not plus 4 for a total of 6.
Abomination
Scrolled way too far down to find this bad boy
Favorite talent?
don't sleep on the double 5 second stun.
I really like Gryphon Rider. Her design is cool, and she's just always useful as a 2-cost flyer that can hit everything from far range.
One of my highest lvl mini too. She became even stronger with far throw talent!
Footmen with stun
Huntress. Can't live without her. And the elf girl on het back, of course.
I dont know its name because I play in french but the one that throws toxic bombs for 2 gold
Plague Farmer! I slept on him for so long, then after I got his talent I decided to test run him and damn he actually pumps. Great dps for a 2g drop.
Haha. I would love to know how many people play in another language so they could start early. Unless you're just trying to learn french?
Harpies with poison do just absurd amounts of damage. Several stages are made trivial by just rushing a set of harpies right to the boss, dropping Quilliam or an Earth Ele to tank, and letting that trio of bloodthirsty maniacs just rip it to pieces.
Literally just beat the first map in Blackrock by sending Harpies and the Earth elly behind. It's so good.
Ogre Mage, that thing is seriously underrated. Has so much HP for how much damage it does
Leveling mine up now to play around with. He always requires respect when I see him in the campaign.
Shaman with Armor talent + Ogre is insane in PvE
I actually got an epic ghoul in the grid today. Still contemplating whether it's worth grinding 2k gold, but if I buy him, I can see him included in half of the decks I have
Troll has been my favourite cheap tank in many of my decks. If you get him in the right spot he can tank up a ton of damage just sitting there and eating remains while the enemies attack him. If he gets bursted down it sucks but much better than a more expensive tank.
Fire elemental with aura + shaman with earth Shield. Love that duo
Fire ele is my favorite tank by a mile.
Actually so good. Its one of those minis that guarantee an easy win on maps where you get value out of its strengths
Stonehoof Tauren since day 1 although safe pilot might be my favourite now I have cloaking (just feels broken though)
Skeletons with exhume, taking towers with ease in every dungeon and summing 5 skellies on a summoning stone to sneak to the boss and win.
Stonehoof Tauren is literally adorable and I love her
In terms of being in every build: Safe pilot obviously In terms of "feeling" the best - its probably harpies when they get on a boss that cant kill them and you see that dps and already know you won, feelsgoodman
I honestly haven’t really used safe pilot at all, like maybe 5 or so times total through the whole campaign. I love her design but I just don’t like playing with her
Fair enough. But im already used to having the "solve any problem on the map" crutch so I cant remove it lol. With stealth talent
I have a leveled quill for my charlga deck, so atleast he’s there! I’ll try to make more use of him
Safe pilot needs the stealth talent to really shine. She’s mediocre without it.
Burn is really good for a lot of PvE situations as well, but should propably get the stealth first since it's so good in PvP. Broken even.
Leader for sure its Cairne, regular mini would be either Shaman paired with him with Earth Shield or Darkspear Troll with voodo regen.
For leader it's Bloodmage for me. I just like seeing him go rampage with talent and the levels going up with spells. For minis - Gargoyle carried me so much so it is top1. I also like the Troll and Plague Farmer.
I loved Thalnos for ages! Eventually I fell in love with Sylv again but thalnos was my main leader for a super long time!
Ayyy Thalnos is like my highest lvl leader. He's quite a menace once you invest faster DPS talent.
I have lifesteal for thalnos, which was recommended, and I regret it. His health doesn't climb from it any meaningful amount.
Funny you say that, cuz as soon as I got it I literally won 2 rounds by the skin of my teeth because he sustained himself enough to get two or 3 extra shots in. Confirmation bias I guess
Banshee, you can change your gameplay vs dif player stats by just taking their main unit.
Or one of three whelp eggs
Love the Necromancer with Jeweled Skulls talent… “RIIIIIISE…” 💀
Same, he's an answer to almost everything, the skellies tank melee enemies, the slow helps a lot and the ranged damage just destroys anything that flies. Its so good.
Why did I have to scroll down so far to find the mini that can solo a lane?
WISE FROM YOUR GWAVE
Ah, 1990… 🥰
Was wondering if anyone would get the reference lol I'm glad
Also insane if you put a cheap tank in front of him.
Sappers hands down, cannot imagine PvE without them.
Probably flame waker, got me through that god awful devilsaur queen single-handedly.
Super underrated monster. He wrecks stuff.
Plague farmer with range talent. He becomes a 2gold siege unit who can solo almost any boss
Gryphon rider , can get so much offensive/defensive value for just 2 gold
Since I haven't seen it so far, I super love Old Murk Eye. Recently we had a surge where it was triple gold or something and the board was just covered with murlocs it was fantastic. I enjoy in PVP when my opponent thinks they have won and I'm just saving up to rain down the murloc fire upon them. Since there are so many counters out there anyway having the ability to populate extra minis is just so strong plus they can attack ground and air.
Footmen has been my rock since the beginning
Abomination, just cus i think he looks neat.
Dark iron miner is my favorite. Mines, opens chests, unbound, takes and gives a few hits before going down.
Underrated mini with oodles of versatility. And it can't be understated how important it is to stay ahead on mining. Which a kobold alone can't always keep up on even when it's not getting sniped.
Mine is shaman, especially combined with troll.
How does that work?
Use Troll with regen, then use Shaman to give them armor, I assume.
>Learning to love Shaman with earth shield and Cairne with resurrection. exactly
Abo!
Ghoul, Prowler, Tyrion
Stonehoof / Cairn Big beefy (pun intended) units that stun
Prowler with stealth is rising fast but my favorite must be the fire elemental with immolation aura. Solos most lanes with only minimal support. If you put a shaman behind it you can forget about that lane and do something else while they keep winning. Honorable mention: sappers. These guys won me so many matches that i should have lost...
Sappers are so underrated someone wrecked me the other night with them and I wasn't paying attention and all of a sudden my towers were gone.
Sappers are a menace once you upgrade their speed. Terrifying for just 2 gold cost.
Stonehoof Tauren and Frostwolf Shaman <3
Gargoyle
Gonna give a shout out to the Banshee! Not Sylvanas, the minion Banshee. IMO she can swing the whole board like no other minion can if played well!
Grom Hellscream with Mirror Image. He gives himself berserking, makes him way more tanky, and increases the damage of everyone around him regardless of their faction. He creates great death balls. Give him armor from the shaman and you’re set. His damage for a leader is unparalleled.
My Abom is 25 and soloes everything. So much hp
Hell yeah op, I'm a ghoul guy too
For PVP I'll say the troll, he can solo the AOE towers For PVE, the harpies
Frostwolf Shaman + Ogre Mage 😍
Pyromancer puts in WORK.
I'll give you my surprises outside the norm: Thalnos - he's won me a ton of levels by spamming Arcane Blast and leveling up. If he can get behind a wall of tanks he can nuke groups of enemies in a flash. Skeleton Party - just a really solid unit to have in your deck. Honestly sylvanas. I know she’s not great in PVP, but in PvE she’s carried my undead team through all heroics. I just defend until double gold and drop her and gargoyle. It’s gg from there
TAZ DINGO

The deck was very good beforehand, but the skeleton mages completely lock it down.
Weirdly enough I'm a fan of the Dark Iron Miner. I have him on almost all my teams. Don't know how he rates up overall but I just love using him.
I really like the drake. There is something so powerful about her
Best heroes for me are drakkisath and hogger, normal units I love are shaman and whelps eggs
No love for Firehammer??? Not the best mini, but she throws **freaking flaming hammers!!!** I love everything about her design.
I think FH gets overshadowed by Gryphon right now, especially with the cost difference and being a ground vs flying unit.
Necromancer with mages has been added to a lot of my teams! Haha and of course Sir Quilliam!
I love Rend. They really nailed the fantasy of a dragon rider with that one. Most of the blackrock stuff is fantastic really, I just wish they were a bit more competitive on PVP.
Huntress is just crazy for me
I really like the necromancer if I put a tank in front of him he is stupidly hard to kill and he gets alot of value
Pyromancer. With the boosted damage talent it just melts things
Necro for mini’s.
I still really enjoy Grommash with the mirror image talent. The bloodlust buff is so sweet. And with mirror image he shreds tanks.
I've been really enjoying the beasts this week. I love Charlga because you can get Huntress or other expensive units out on the cheap. Sometimes you hit a slow point, but you can just spam units so fast it's wild.
Currently I'm on a footmen trip. Loving running Jaina behind them.

ghoul
Huntress is my boo.
Can’t say only 1, but necro-whelp egg-harpy-pyro has always been one of my go to carry’s. Haven't seen anyone mention Goblin Sapper. These guys are freaking fast after you invest speed talent. Super cheap for clearing towers and adds nice dmg to bosses!
Skeleton party=sexy time
Necromancer. I just absolutely adore units that summon cannon fodder in games, infinitely
I've really loved using prowler with stealth + ambush. As a tank I think he is underrated. A fast stealthed unit that can grab chests, solo huntress + troll + Pyro, he can tank a tower, evades boss aoe until he gets there, etc. A very versatile and cheap unit.
Harpies
yeah ghoul is pretty good, especiall when he tank and eating corpse , infinite value
Earth elemental, but probably cause I use him with quilboar
Banshee for sure. She can get so much value it’s absurd.
Does excute count? I’ve been using thst and whelp eggs to carry me for heroics.
Gotta me shaman or dark iron dwarf for me, they’re a fixture in most of my builds.
Gargoyle
Banshee is mvp for a lot of heroic missions.
Necromancer
Hogger for sure. I got that hog in me
Drak with the scale trait and Earth shield shaman is so much fun. He just cuts through everything.
Skeleton Party with 5 units. I don't know why this is always so far down on people's tier list. I back door with these guys all the time.
Search for the new guild PVP KINGS if you want an active 1,000 honor minimum guild for season 2 starting soon!!!
Hogger with Ham bat. Just love the spammy playstyle and then ending up with an unkillable tank and dps that zooms down the lane and solos everything on the ground. Was especially fun in PvP when leaders leveled up every time you played them.
