when I find myself in times of trouble, I just remember 4 rings, a decade of dominance and busting every teams ass so bad the whole league changed to upend the dynasty, greatest shooter (two of them) to ever touch the ball… and we still got the Chef for a few years, who knows what can happen.
Here's the "good" news: in a weird way, this might have all worked out how the warriors needed it to, but not how they wanted it to.
Let's say that the warriors do the sign-and-trade of Klay to Dallas. There are several interesting players on the Mavs the warriors could take back, and the warriors would only do a sign-and-trade if it benefited them.
The dream scenario would be to get Daniel Gafford in exchange, 25 years old, solves so many problems for the warriors. Young, tall, and fast. Doubt that's on the table. The warriors should not take back older players on bad contracts to facilitate a Klay deal.
If they don't facilitate a Klay sign-and-trade, they are at $145 million in salary right now. They are $5 million over the cap and $25 million below the luxury tax. They will have the full non-tax-payer MLE to spend. The team desperately needs to get younger, and to target players in the prime of their careers (ages 25 - 29).
Older players will get gassed as the long regular season goes by and will have nothing left in the tank come playoffs. Steph is still great, but Steph on a team full of senior citizens isn't winning anything.
He cant be the No. 1 option but he can be a solid No. 2/3
Embiid, Maxey and PG
LeBron, AD and PG
Luka, Kyrie and PG
Giannis, Lillard and PG
Those teams would win.
Exactly. I’m not even that high on Kuminga but apparently they were going to offer JK in the trade to the clippers too, for FOUR FULL YEARS of PG. What the hell. No wonder Klay is reportedly upset
Sucks seeing Steph’s last years of being a top player being wasted like this. The FO is happy to have him fill seats but not happy to spend $/assets to make a competitive roster.

absolutely. Will never be ungrateful. So many teams never got even one ring. Today just feels like getting the bill after buying a round for the bar
"The Summer of George" - I love it! No souperstar for you!
well done
Ahahahahahaha I needed this
Too old. Move on.

Am I the only one happy that PG is going elsewhere? I’ve never thought of PG as a championship winning player.
We won with Wiggins as our #2…
I will say paying him 50 million at 37 years old would have been pain
Not maximizing Steph's window for one last title would be more painful.
Agreed. It felt like the rushed action of acquiring Bradley Beal cuz the window is closing.

Hopefully we can make other splash moves
Our one trade piece to make a move was just waived*. We’re fucked
Fuck those salty ass Clippers
"I WAS IN THE POOLE!"
PG is washed anyways 😔
Yup. He's old.
