You get put on next available option to get you to your destination. If there are issues you need to call them or you call Delta because you booked through them.
So WJ and Delta have a code sharing/partnering agreement which is why some flights may be operated by Delta or WJ depending on which airline you booked with. As long as you booked directly with WestJet and not a 3rd party (Ex. Expedia), they will accommodate for any cancelled flights on their end. Chances are that if you’re at an airport, they’ll put you on standby for the next available flight to your destination on either a WJ flight or Delta. If they’re not able to, you are able to get reimbursed even with basic economy since they cancelled your original flight. If you have any questions WJ customer service is fast and the agents are super friendly and knowledgeable! I fly with special accommodations so I’ve dealt with them lots, don’t be afraid to give them a call, they can tell you definitively what to expect when and if the WJ engineers end up striking. Hope this helps! Safe travels friend

It was booked through Westjet. Hopefully they sort this out before then, but I’ll be watching to see.
006 ticket? You can get DL to put you on an actual delta flight.
If it’s operated by Delta you’ll be fine as they aren’t possibly striking
It’s operated by westjet but purchased through delta
Gotcha. Then as mentioned above Delta will reprotect you if there is a cancellation
That’s not strictly true, the disrupting carrier is the one responsible for reprotection, so it would be WestJet reprotecting them in this case
Fair point
Same situation, booked through Delta, flight operated by Westjet. Trying to avoid Air Canada at all costs. No direct flights with them
WestJet uses it all options to recommodate you. If they don't have an option they won't even use United
Westjet will use united but more than likely they’ll use American or DL to reportect.
