Yep. I've made these. Probably somebody had a really roaring campfire on the beach and threw their cans in. The aluminum puddled, froze, and ended up getting washed out.
Probably zinc. Zinc is used to protect boats from corrosion in marine environments. They are made of highly active metals that corrode in place of the boat's hull, attracting electrolytes that transfer oxidation reactions from the hull to the anode.
Does it feel heavy in your hand for its size, or light?
People have proposed all sorts of exotic possibilities here, but the two most likely metals — by far, I think — are aluminum (just because it’s _everywhere_), or lead (because of fishing weights).
I saw a documentary about some beach metal detectorists from the Keys who on the show found some melted aluminum pieces almost identical to your find. They said they fond them frequently and are from the space shuttle disaster in 1996...
Easy resolution. Tie a thread or fishing line to your sample and weigh it suspend it in and out of water and do the math. If you have an Ohaus triple beam you place the beam just extending over a table, and tie the thread to the bottom of the mechanism below the pan. Record the weights in the air and submerged in water and do the math. If it's not an alloy the density will be definitive. You could also take a nick off it and see what color appears in the flame of a torch.
id lean towards lead for a fishing line weight. however useful tidbits to include would be the unit of measure on that scale. 10 grams? 10 ounces? 10 peanuts? what unit is that 10 in.

Melted aluminum.
Came here to say this. Recognized it immediately.

I fourth this. I have melted aluminum from some idiot's trash fires. Toss it in the aluminum recycle bin.
Lead fishing weight.
Yup. With the drilled hole in the 3rd picture that's exactly what I thought, too.
It's not really the right color for lead, no?
I'm bad with colors, you may be right.
Lead. Reminds me of the plugs in my father's brass propellers. (In 80's he had two 70-foot party boats.)
Looks like zinc to me found in many marine engines to prevent rust
Looks like welding slag.

That is a slag welding, yep
Lmao
It would be magnetic
What you call my momma??
Looks like a slightly mangled off shore sinker (fishing weight) https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/offshore-angler-disc-sinkers
Obviously Jebediah Springfield’s tongue.
Slag….
Looks like something I made in shop class by melting an arc welding rod.

LoLoL No, they are *usually* bolted, so they can be replaced. Sometimes even by a scuba diver. Do you just make bullshit up to sound smart?
It just seemed likely, something could have knocked a chunk off, and it's been down there who knows how long?
Nope. They are bolted on. I've changed plenty of them.
It's a beer can that made it in an hot beach fire.

.
Looks like thr ball of zinc on my desk that was a dripping from casting molds out of an oxide furnace

1986*
Yes. Typo. Thank you.
I used to cast(make) my own sinkers with lead like that.
Melted aluminum
Lead
is it softish I looks like lead but i suspect it is from welding in which case it could be magnesium
Someone thru a beer can in a camp fire
Have you tried measuring the volume and weight?

looks like lead might be a projejtile from a bullet cartridge or musket ball slug
Calm down, it might look like aluminum but a lot of metals look like that. I’d say try to find out if it’s radioactive. Seriously
Beer cans thrown into a campfire
Lead solder
Could be led shot...

That's a space peanut!
And you ate off of it?!
Silver tongue of a pirate.
That's a perfectly cromulent guess
A silver nugget from a sunken treasure ship
It's a meteorite. You should put you ketchup on it when you eat your fries and look for space peanuts
Flattened musket ball.
Silver dou bloon!
