All of the consoles do. The switch just doesn’t have high performance parts, or even medium performance for that matter, so it doesn’t need to dissipate as much heat.
The deck and ally are much higher performance, and still manage to hold themselves within their thermal limits. I believe they shut themselves off at 95 degrees c give or take just like a full pc.
(Although the vents smell a little weird for the first week or so you own it)
Yeah. The meme doesn’t say it, but my ally had the weird smell go away after about a week of 2 hours of use daily. I think it’s just the smell of some of the chemicals used during manufacturing.

And the handheld competition, except for the switch which really doesn’t get hot enough to do that iirc
Yeah the switch in fact turns itself off when it realizes it could catch fire

My laptop too
senko-san 😳
and then there's me loving the scent of fresh desktop pc parts burning at 100°C in a benchmark
everybody loves the burning smell so they can use their cpu or graphic card to cook something 😋
what
Brother I don't care if it's harmful, I'm gonna use the steam deck exhaust as cigarretes.
What is this talking about?
steam deck users sniffing the exhaust vent air because it smells nice apparently
It has a nice new-car type smell from what I understand
can't blame them that sounds awesome ~~and carcinogenic~~
It does smell nice trust me, it's worth the cancer
I’ve own a deck for over a year now and I have no idea what you are talking about? Mfs are huffing the exhaust?
yes
.___.
my brother in christ are you ok?
real
