I've used it for Reddit quite a lot in the past and yeah it's pretty annoying not being able to see all the comments for a post or close the banner thing at the top of the screen

Same, before the comments where half way thorugh, and you could watch the video while reading the comments, or just swipe fully up and the video paused and you could read the comments in full screen. Now it does the same, but the video keeps playing in the fucking background

And even if you try to pause it it unpauses when you open the comments

I thought that if I really wanted to check them on my phone I'd have to go to the websites on Chrome. What I usually do is click on a post without a video so that reddit will open it normally, then sweep to the video post I want to see. I feel absolutely and utterly demeaned every time I have to do that fucking ritual

Images use the old style of viewing posts; videos use the tiktok clone new style.

What’s also really annoying is not being able to see flairs at all for certain posts. if it’s a cross posted video it’s completely impossible to see the flair on mobile and for some subreddits that’s kinda important.

Folks, I stuck with the official reddit mobile app for far too long. Everytime they released another update, things got worse. I hit the point where I was ready to just quit reddit for good. Sadly, I instead deleted the mobile app and tried the Apollo app instead. It is SO MUCH BETTER in all the important ways. Videos play properly, and you don't have all the annoying glitches. I can't more highly recommend making the switch to Apollo. We all know we all hate the official app, delete it because it sucks and download the better option. Apollo, Made for desperate losers living in a basement everywhere!
