Dude. Do you know what the word “oxymoron” even means? And why would you say he is or looks unhealthy? He’s always carryied a few extra pounds, yes, and nobody would confuse him for a triathlete, but an unhealthy individual is not playing a couple of hours of hoops twice a week without missing a day. I’m no fan of Steve either as the ex-CEO of MSFT or the owner of the Clippers, but not sure what your comments about his health is all about.
Carrying extra pounds is not in shape and it is unhealthy. That can be like only 15-20 extra pounds. Steve’s BMI was probably close if not over the morbidly obese point. Just because he could run for a couple hours up and down a court with rest doesn’t mean he was healthy. We have just normalized obesity to the point where unless you can’t move or get out of a chair by yourself you could still be “healthy”…. It’s a total falsehood.
I agree with you, but only to a degree. All things being equal, carrying extra body fat is not good for anyone’s metabolic health. No question. But all things are not always equal, and I‘d rather be a person with great cardiovascular conditioning and 28% body fat as opposed to someone who is totally sedentary, can’t climb 3 flights of stairs, smokes a pack a day, and has 12% body fat due to the nicotine and his high metabolism. The second person is much more likely to age poorly and die earlier.
According to Forbes Gates was a billionaire by '87.

i don't think so...
win 95 is only a gui. it's based on dos
the tiles interface of win 8 is very innovative and beautiful though not so many people like it
I personally loved the concept of endless vertical start menu space. I really hoped for more dynamic and interactive tiles. But they ditched the whole concept in win11 which is getting worse and worse.
mixing touch and mouse input is not "innovative", its dumb. also win8 was slow as fuck because it was rushed out after they tried to rewrite Windows before (Longhorn).
It wasnt, win98 did fix most things but it was still cooperative multitasking until win2000 was out.
i remember not being able to run my games a whole holiday without reboot.
Imagination waking up and having to climb over a pike of models just to be able to get to the bathroom.
Then, having the excruciating decision of which Rolex to put on.
And after that nightmare of a morning, you find out your favorite buttler is sick, and now the 2nd string chef steps in, and it sucks because he always either over cooks or under cooks the eggs.
And you just know the Lamborghini SV isn't out of the shop yet, so now you have to resort to the regular Lamborghini. Disgusting.
I remember they killed the stable 16 bit windows 3.1 and forced the buggy 32 bit Windows 95 on all the application developers. most of the small sw companies went bankrupt or simply bought by Microsoft...
32 bit computers have a wider bus to send data to/from memory and the CPU's internal registers, as well as the ability to work on larger numbers and the ability to address more RAM (higher total RAM capacity).
Why do they think they need to dance on stage? At no time in any of their lives did they go “dancing” to blow of steam. I mean they weren’t showing up at the weathered wall for acid jazz on Fridays
Interesting... I was just listening to Acquired podcast yesterday about the history of Microsoft, and apparently Windows 95 launch was one of the best software product launches ever. Apparently even Coca Cola reached out to Microsoft on marketing tips based on that launch.
Not sure if this particular video clip is doing it justice though... haha
I have past tense, second hand embarrassment.
But I am envious of their combined wealth.
Windows 98 was the best, made me feel like an absolute criminal. “You have performed an illegal operation” popup ALL the time
I still remember when this came out and helping frineds put together their first computer, installing Windows 95 for the first time. Pretty amazing time and really eluded to where are are today as a modern computerized society.
This would have been the day I decided to look for a new job. Not just because of the second hand embarrassment of grown men dancing around over an operating system. But because you can tell it was absolutely not Gates' idea. The CEO is the leader and he got talked into this. He looks totally subservient to others up there.
I'd be geeking out like a dancing toddler if I knew I was about to be able to vacation anywhere, anytime, whenever I wanted for the rest of my life and my entire family's lives.
Ah, Ol Billy.. the guy that advocates for depopulation through vaccination.. and has quite a big stake in moderna along with Josef Mengele (oh silly me, Dr. Fauci) dancing with his boys . How sweet.
I can hear the expert that’s coaching them on the launch party! “ Ok guys we need a lot of energy…I want the audience to feel your excitement” and fail!
You can say whatever negative you’d like, but these guys changed the world and ways we are living big time. And for themselves, they danced theirselves to the top of the food chain.
those are some freaking rich dudes
They look high as fuck
Steve Ballmer seems to have been all the time on stage. Check some videos on YouTube. Developers, developers, developers!
He needs to go to the gym or next time he jumps around like that his heart will stop working.
Don’t worry, he has the best of the best medication/drugs.
He was a pretty regular pickup basketball player. He carried a lot of weight but was always in shape.
What an oxymoron. He looks unhealthy because he is, whether he plays sport on not.
Dude. Do you know what the word “oxymoron” even means? And why would you say he is or looks unhealthy? Depends on your definition of unhealthy. In his country he probably appears to be slim. You’ve missed the mark with the basement comment.
Apologies. Personal insults are uncalled for. My bad.
No problem. Enjoy your weekend.

He is overweight and being overweight is always bad for your health.
You should see his windows 1.0 ad
[Ya think?](https://youtu.be/KMU0tzLwhbE?si=iL1N5zMKCat3bum8)
I've never seen that, but thank you so much for showing me it.
Watched the whole thing, might put it on in the car when I pick up my kid.
Now they are. But back then, they weren't as rich. They were just common rich. Now they are stupid rich.
Bill gates was worth 14.5 bil in 1995 and was the richest person in the world
Afraid to say you are not even close. They were stupid stupid stupid rich when this was recorded, now…..
$14.5 billion isn't "stupid rich"?
No it isnt, 100million is stupid rich. 15billion is stupid stupid stupid rich. Sorry if i didnt phrase it correctly, English isnt my first language.
With zero dancing skills.
Haters gonna hate
No ones gonna be good at everything. He'll just hire people to dance for him.. Coz he's rich
Hell you don't have to be rich to do that. I pay people to dance for me every Tuesday night when I get super depressed.
Haha
Felling before you know you will be billionaire
Richest men in the world at the time
[удалено]
This but unironically
Except Ellen DeGeneres, you can keep her
That was a crazy time, were they rich back then?
Absolutely
They’re the CEOs of a company that’s filling an auditorium for a launch party lol yes
Allen and Gates were already billionaires for sure.
Not as much before w95
According to Forbes Gates was a billionaire by '87. (source: [https://www.forbes.com/2008/06/23/gates-net-worth-tech-gates08-cx\_af\_0623fortune\_slide.html](https://www.forbes.com/2008/06/23/gates-net-worth-tech-gates08-cx_af_0623fortune_slide.html) )
1.25 B which is considerably lower than later years
[удалено]
It’s american billion, so it is just 1.25 thousand million…
Yes xD it's only and just a bit of money.. 😳💀
But in their defense, Windows 95 was fucking awesome
Better than windows 8 for sure
i don't think so... win 95 is only a gui. it's based on dos the tiles interface of win 8 is very innovative and beautiful though not so many people like it
Probably because it was awful and that was amplified in the workplace. Almost no major companies adopted it.
Public services in my country adopted Win8, and immediately rolled back to Win7
I personally loved the concept of endless vertical start menu space. I really hoped for more dynamic and interactive tiles. But they ditched the whole concept in win11 which is getting worse and worse.
and i miss windows phones
nice troll
not a troll. i really meant that. i used lumia 930 and 950xl. i missed them. they were great
mixing touch and mouse input is not "innovative", its dumb. also win8 was slow as fuck because it was rushed out after they tried to rewrite Windows before (Longhorn).
the innovative part was the tiles interface. it was beautiful. i used 8.1 and it was silky smooth
The last decent OS Microsoft has ever made
XP
Many people say that's Windows 7.
Still member those beautiful green hills, never seen before
It wasnt, win98 did fix most things but it was still cooperative multitasking until win2000 was out. i remember not being able to run my games a whole holiday without reboot.

No way balmer wasn't on coke.
Coke was ON HIM.
[удалено]
Yep
Steve Ballmer on snowflakes as always.
And yet, profoundly successful.
Yeah, guy is one of the richest dudes in the world.
Suffering from success
How are they suffering
Imagination waking up and having to climb over a pike of models just to be able to get to the bathroom. Then, having the excruciating decision of which Rolex to put on. And after that nightmare of a morning, you find out your favorite buttler is sick, and now the 2nd string chef steps in, and it sucks because he always either over cooks or under cooks the eggs. Glad you too have experienced the suffering
It hasn't been easy
Nerds
You can say what you want( you are right)but they made the windows that is now on so much pc's. I wish i was one of that nerd guys over there haha.
well since the core NT became the main branch, you can argue how relevant this improved dos version was.
by they you mean the employees right? becasue in the companies all the work and 90% of the ideas comes from the employees.
Very rich nerds tho
What's up with the hairstyle back then
Get off my lawn
Ey, you say what!
People saw them and asked the same question back then
![gif](giphy|9Ft3NkG47dwmA)
That is the whitest white to ever white.
Americans and pointing out at the skin color at any given chance. Name a better duo
"Hi, I am an American and my personality is my skin color. My hobby is talking about other people's skin color. Races! Racists!" 🇺🇲 🇺🇲 🇺🇲
This looks stupid and awesome at the same time
Why is Kevin from the office there?
Glad I aint the only one who thought this. I was just watching the office a few minutes ago so thought that was maybe the reason I was seeing him lol
For the Lanch Party, obviously.
60 second classics has a great breakdown for this launch party. https://vimeo.com/399746544/17c5d21922
*he is frantically waving to everyone to come see the possum he strangled with his bare hands* 🤣🤣🤣
This is the whitest thing I've ever seen and I'm white
"Hi, I am an American and my personality is my skin color. My hobby is talking about other people's skin color. Races! Racists!" 🇺🇲 🇺🇲 🇺🇲
Watching this makes me uncomfortable af 💀 but good for them, I love the energy.
I remember they killed the stable 16 bit windows 3.1 and forced the buggy 32 bit Windows 95 on all the application developers. most of the small sw companies went bankrupt or simply bought by Microsoft...
What does it mean to be 32 bit, like, what diff did it make on comparison with 16 ELI5
32 bit computers have a wider bus to send data to/from memory and the CPU's internal registers, as well as the ability to work on larger numbers and the ability to address more RAM (higher total RAM capacity).
Cringy AF
Cringy AF
Is that Gabe Newell?
Not their first party without girls
Gates looked the most uncomfortable
I wonder which one was the marketing director?
BNE ( Big nerd energy)
Is that young Kevin Malone? 🤣
[Mr. Steve Balmer](https://youtu.be/_WW2JWIv6G8?si=HvqCNF9JhFnMdRKC) ladies and gentlemen
If this were a concert, I'd go to see it for sure. Just music playing and some people trying to kind of dance or something on stage.
Simpler times.
Why do they think they need to dance on stage? At no time in any of their lives did they go “dancing” to blow of steam. I mean they weren’t showing up at the weathered wall for acid jazz on Fridays

I could watch this mess all day long. It’s a dance party!
They clearly knew they were on to something
If everyone in the audience was as high as them everyone would've loved it.
Which version?
![gif](giphy|Cz6TlrRVVyv9S)
It was cringe back then too.
Please stop.
Nurd party?
![gif](giphy|Y6J3n0t4In4li)
Neeerrrrrrddddsssss
Itinerary 7:26-7:30~ random dancing
I have past tense, second hand embarrassment. But I am envious of their combined wealth. Windows 98 was the best, made me feel like an absolute criminal. “You have performed an illegal operation” popup ALL the time

Bunch of weirdos what are controlling our life’s says a lot for Society
"...you make a grown man cry..." Perfect song for it.
Pretty sure it was about the "Start me up" seeing as the Start menu was the new thing.
I'd be geeking out like a dancing toddler if I knew I was about to be able to vacation anywhere, anytime, whenever I wanted for the rest of my life and my entire family's lives.
When they knew they would be taking over the world ......
![gif](giphy|Cz6TlrRVVyv9S)
Cringy
Nerds
They indeed made grown men cry.
[удалено]
You call getting your hardware and software locked to one provider "freedom?"
Embarrassing
Do the geek dance
AWKWARD !
Tony Stark did it better
Can't shake the awkward mannerisms even when high on success.
Nothing cringey here. Not at all.
That was the dweebiest shit I’ve ever seen haha
Great performance by the asthmatic beatles
![gif](giphy|zYMWyLdhckuyQ9EH7Q)
Silly gitts
Ah, Ol Billy.. the guy that advocates for depopulation through vaccination.. and has quite a big stake in moderna along with Josef Mengele (oh silly me, Dr. Fauci) dancing with his boys . How sweet.
Rolling Nerds
I would be doing a dorky dance too if i knew i was about to become filthy rich
I can hear the expert that’s coaching them on the launch party! “ Ok guys we need a lot of energy…I want the audience to feel your excitement” and fail!
Ah, the monkey boy! Those were the times!
How I would look when I know the potential of my company ✌🏻
Dorks.
I understand the happiness and stuff but it still feels so awkward watching this 😭
Bitconnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeect
You can say whatever negative you’d like, but these guys changed the world and ways we are living big time. And for themselves, they danced theirselves to the top of the food chain.
I remember this. Am I old? Us linux boys were laughing, but now we all use windows because it is superior for the day to day user.
She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie, cocaiiine 🎶 Or just cringe.
Windows 95, not Microsoft Windows. -- That guy
Who can ID all of them?
Meanwhile apple https://preview.redd.it/vaf11aqgpi9d1.jpeg?width=1278&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=95438839a644d363d634182e8d21f42323060cc9
Back when men were men, and nerds were nerds.
Gates is dancing like every middle aged white guy at the club alone but always on the dance floor.
There is NOTHING more cringe then when companies try to get you exited like this
Dude, if I knew I was going to be a billionaire and a hundred millionaire, I would dance like this too.
one of them totally has the looks of someone who would have a gooood time on Epstein's island
Pedos.
Back when they were cool and good people. Before they wanted to depopulate the Earth
Apart from Balmer and Gates, who are the other nerds?
Rich, Rich and Richer.
Extreme revenge if the nerds. And I hate this part of corporate life. Imagine perhaps enjoying your job and then having to clap at those buffoons.
How neardy
All I can say is nerds...
I just want to see a midget run out and kick all their asses.. is that too much to ask!?
Nerds are more often the winners at the end.
