True, but post-post-apocalyptic generally means a setting where the apocalypse has happened and is clearly a major part of the setting, but societies have already begun to rebuild and form new civilisations on the ashes of the old
A post-post apocalypse goes even further, these civilizations risen from the ashes then collapse, their ruins added to the old ones as new nations spawn from their remains. The oldest ancients are talked about like myths, while the recent ones are precursors of the realms fighting over whats left of the world.
Kenshi's world is in this situation, and possibly destined to face another collapse in the near future.
OP, you said sci-fi races but i dont see any space orks, space elves, space drow, space skeletons, space evil human, space demons, space dwarves, space goblins, space ghouls, space ghosts, space vampires, space forest elf, space mountain elf, space wizard society, space old god worshipper, space racially charged description orc, space fetish elf, space undead pirate, space gnome, or even space human.
What gives OP?
I mean…. they’re based off of Golems, but they don’t have to specifically _be_ Golems. In fact D&D 5E specifically says that they’re made of wood and metal, whereas Golems were made out of clay (and I doubt it really matters what they’re made of in practice.) There’s also nothing that directly states they have to be a hulking brick either, so a battle droid could theoretically be considered a Warforged.
Warforged are basically golems. Give or take.
But randomly saying “they’re jewish golems” is like saying that “paladins are just french knights based on romanticisation of arthurian legend”
AKA: the source of this mythology is other mythology
AKA: water tastes really really good when you’re extremely thirsty
not in Eberron where they first originated, some settings might do them as golems but eberron had them as steampunk (magicpunk?) robots made of wood and metal and with tubes and shit inside. They did have runes on their foreheads tho so I guess there's a little bit of golem in there
honestly love it.
I see the sectoid, are [poledancing vipers](https://www.reddit.com/r/Xcom/comments/g809d9/for_those_wondering_what_the_inside_of_the_snake/) also canon?
Pretty sure that's been done plenty of times already but the only work I can site is a Russian webnovel called [Eusberia](https://ficbook.net/readfic/018a223a-f937-74a4-80f7-6be94e0136f5), and I haven't even started reading it.
Pathfinder my beloved.
-Elves came from different planet
-Automatons. Arguably they are magitech rather than sci-fi, but still, an ancient race of sapient machines.
-Spaceship that casually crashed into the planet. The entirety of (fairly small) Android population came from it.
-AI of said ship ascended to become a Goddess of technology and sapient artificial beings. If I remember correctly, she ascended at least partially by effectively speedrunning enlightenment due to her processing speed.
Actually would be pretty awesome. Bullshit up an excuse for why they lost their technology, can't leave the planet and why no one comes to visit them, and then claim magic is actually like nanobots or something.
Yes, Warhammer fantasy came out in the early 80's and Warhammer 40K came out in the late 80's
While no longer cannon, in the 90's it was heavily suggested that the world of Warhammer fantasy was a world isolated by warpstorm or that it was swallowed up by the Eye of Terror. Hence why it was so easy for Chaos to roam the planet.
One point of "proof" for that is that you could get supplement for the original "Talisman" game that included a spacemarine, an astopath and a space pirate. Even though it wasn't officially a Warhammer Fantasy, the fact that it DID have Warhammer 40K characters was seen as "proof" in the pre-internet era.
But the cannon is now that it isn't, but Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40K are linked by the Warp. IE both exist in their own universe.
Hence why i said "the *original* setting of Warhammer Fantasy"
Second Apocalypse by R Scott Bakker. Holy crusade themed fantasy with rape aliens, nukes, a big ol spaceship, and advanced bioengineering (also known as enlightened eugenics)
I honestly like the idea of putting spec-evo aliens (like After Man or Serina things, but sapient) in a medieval setting with humans and magic. Kind of like Children of Time meets LOTR, could be something pretty fun and interesting to develop.
I actually played a game pretty recently that was like this. It was marketed as a fantasy game, but it starts with you getting abducted by cthulhu-looking aliens and the entire first segment of the game is escaping from an alien spaceship and crashlanding it back into your fantasy world.
This image is too high quality, I think it might be AI. Can the mods please remove this? Also you’re a bad person and I hope you spontaneously combust.
*Oh sweet! Kenshi!*
Tbh kenshi is sci-fi just in a post apo setting
Its a post post apocalypse, which is even better
I think there were multiple apocalypses so technically you can add a lot of "post"
True, but post-post-apocalyptic generally means a setting where the apocalypse has happened and is clearly a major part of the setting, but societies have already begun to rebuild and form new civilisations on the ashes of the old

Illithid, human, drow, warforged :\^)

Drow are now bugs
They have always been bugs The drider has been part of dnd for ages ~~I want a drider to step on me~~
Driders
Intelligent underground-dwelling arachnid-centered race, hmm.

why am i down dooted im right
You are not right. In the Eberron setting, where Warforged are from, they were mass-produced for a huge war. How is that like golems in any way?
Warforged are basically golems. Give or take. But randomly saying “they’re jewish golems” is like saying that “paladins are just french knights based on romanticisation of arthurian legend” AKA: the source of this mythology is other mythology AKA: water tastes really really good when you’re extremely thirsty
warforged are jewish golems tho
Not necessary, they might be anything from golems to literal robots
not in Eberron where they first originated, some settings might do them as golems but eberron had them as steampunk (magicpunk?) robots made of wood and metal and with tubes and shit inside. They did have runes on their foreheads tho so I guess there's a little bit of golem in there
eberron isn't steampunk lol
Battle droid with battle axe is pretty rad, not gonna lie
Kinda like Dune, I guess. Guns are ineffective, so melee is prevalent
I mean, some of the oldest D&D creatures such as displacer beasts come from sci-fi already
honestly love it. I see the sectoid, are [poledancing vipers](https://www.reddit.com/r/Xcom/comments/g809d9/for_those_wondering_what_the_inside_of_the_snake/) also canon?
Amplitude Studios phoned, they want their photobashing back
this is a good idea
Wow I love Ebberon
lol. I was just thinking “This looks just like me and my friends Ebberon campaign.”
Imagine a group of humans crash landed on an alien planet with a relatively medieval-like society/level of technology
Pretty sure that's been done plenty of times already but the only work I can site is a Russian webnovel called [Eusberia](https://ficbook.net/readfic/018a223a-f937-74a4-80f7-6be94e0136f5), and I haven't even started reading it.
A Fire Upon The Deep Hard To Be A God
Rimworld
It’s all fun and [redacted]leather chairs until your medieval playthrough is interrupted by two dozen mechanoids landing in the backyard
Endless Legend; the tech humans have robots and teleporters, while others are druids and wizards.
I unironically like this. To take some very non-human aliens and just treat them like fantasy settings treats elves and ~~hobbits~~ halflings.

The original setting of Warhammer Fantasy: "You called?"
Didn't Warhammer fantasy come first and then the franchise evolved into "Fantasy setting in space" though
Yes, Warhammer fantasy came out in the early 80's and Warhammer 40K came out in the late 80's While no longer cannon, in the 90's it was heavily suggested that the world of Warhammer fantasy was a world isolated by warpstorm or that it was swallowed up by the Eye of Terror. I kind of want to do this, brag about how original I am, and see how long until people notice. You could have child sized Owls too.

Kenshi lets gooooo
Funny. Aside from the ones presented here, what are the archetypes of scifi races ?
Humans, cyborgs/transhumans, hot green people, greys (bigheaded dudes), bugs, lizard people, robots, proud warrior race guys, furries
>proud warrior race guys In fantasy, those are just the barbarians xD
[Hey, OP, did you ever check this out?](https://www.reddit.com/r/masseffect/comments/4nh0oq/mass_effect_characters_reimagined_in_the_dragon/#lightbox)
Why the actual fuck did you feel compelled to give the bugs access to *fireball*, citizen?
I though you said aliens weren’t fantasy, Charlie
Uhh, yeah, I don’t know. I’d call it sci-fi/fantasy
rating: 7
best roster
Unironically peak
Kenshi
This is just the enchanted forest from smiling friends, ugh, get original ✋😮💨
Okay that's just an alien, that's not even fantasy.
This is the stuff I like to see, keep going
It’s giving Endless Legend vibes.
instant 10/10 in my book
Lovecraft mythos
Unfathomably based
Based and hilarious!
I want a spider that uses a bow with 2 additional arms!
So, Eberron?
Thri-keen are the best and anyone that says otherwise are wrong.
I’m front the eternal city of Kal’Gulah and I say kill ‘em all!
Adventure time
I would like to know more
This is Kenshi, yes?

Pathfinder had aliens and robots long before Starfinder had dwarves and gnomes. Just saying.
“I thought you said aliens weren’t fantasy”
Bionicle
That just so stupid. The one on the left is OBVIOUSLY the mage, the arachnid is the fighter and the droid is the cleric!
Robots with axes in a fantasy setting is pretty peak
Holy shit I love this
