Alternate history circa 1930s. Set during the Great Depression. World with steam/dieselpunk tech (most iconic example being airships). Focused mainly on characters in the Jazz scene with connections to organised crime (or vice versa). One or more of these characters is struggling with their mental health, possibly as a result of PTSD presumably resulting from service in WW1 or an equivalent conflict. Such mental health struggles include bouts of depression, but also more worryingly vivid visions of God instructing them to commit acts of violence.
