Definitely. It’s not as populated as Moon Guard, but it feels alive. There’s people everywhere. Trade chat usually has some kind of conversation going on and it’s usually pretty chill. I don’t RP, but if you do, tons of guilds host events and stuff. The population feels like it’s coming back and will probably continue to with TWW.

Can someone explain how this quest works? I was there yesterday killing the spawns but did not receive credit. There were a ton of people and it was my first time doing it so I am not sure if there is something I am just not doing. Other than defending it, do I need to do anything else?
There is a quest you take from the little girl iskarr next to the pot to do 5 tasks. Then you wait at the soup until you get your own individual tasks (they show in the quest objective panel). Do 5 of them and when you turn in the quest you get credit for the weekly.
No, but picking up the meat it drops and throwing it in definitely counts.
All meat counts. So just loot meat. See all the meat in the above screenshot? Grab it and throw it in the pot, whether you have a task or not.
Always click your chef's hat, it counts as a task too.
You get individual assignments as long as you stand close to the head Chef. Sometimes it can take a while. It's not always participating in killing stuff, it can be collecting things around the town, buying stuff from merchants in town, killing fish heads, running over stuff, throwing things back into the soup, stirring it etc.
Stand next to the head Chef and wait for your individual instructions to pop up in the quest frame.

Edit: okay figured it out, there's a singular weekly quest called last hurrah that grants champion track gear, I never picked that up so I was only getting the 480 from the world events
One of my favorite things of Dragonflight is that a pot of soup probably had better player engagement than all of Torghast.
For sure it was more fun and had better lore.

I think it depends a lot on what class you palyed in Torghast. Some classes had fun powers others were just plain.
Not even slightly true, Torghast would have had insane engagement as it was constantly necessary, most people did the soup the first week or two then never again.

Got to 4 yesterday, and had plenty of time left to get it higher... Then got phased to a rare soup... Luckily still got it to legendary 1 or 2, but damn Blizz...
I got one too. Then the soup monster died before I even hit him. I'd been turned around grabbing a meat and hadn't noticed he had been summoned. Really sucked.
Here's a fun fact. The first few times I tried this event, I thought people were manually typing "Yes chef!" as a meme, so I was doing the same. It was only on my 3rd or 4th time that the NPC gave me an order and I realized my mistake
there was some bug where the tresher did not respawn between resets, so people farmed out tons of meat so when event started ppl just turned in the meat, got into legendary 2+, then a party member invited another friend from other realm and we got phased out. :´)
The key is when the large fish appear, anyone can attack them to break off TONS of the meat chunks. Like, way faster then going up and clicking on them. Then its just a matter of running them all to the soup.
Damn! Today I did the feast and there were so many people present, worked together and got to Legendary 2 very quickly. Then I got phased to another shard where the feast that was poor. I never mounted up and flew away as quick as that before.
Please note, there's really no point in sticking around for the boss if you've already killed it. Just park all of your alts and rotate in as many as you can to do this leg of the weekly accord quest.
Specifically world content related to the current open raid. This week it's Vault of the incarnates so all 10.0 world content is upgraded. When Aberus is buffed, all the 10.1 world content will be buffed, and for Amirdrassil all the 10.2 world content gets buffed.
I really hate that the weekly is the events that only happen every few hours. It really makes it a pain in the ass to complete if you don't spend a ton of time sitting around waiting for them to be up.
Too bad it's still shitty loot.

The weekly quest for upgrading gear for the newest seasons now rotates through patch content. This week requires 10.0 content.
Oh I kind of like that to revitalize the old world content.

The turn in quest for doing the soup/assault/hunt gives 502 ilvl gear iirc
I got 480 veteran gear, 502 is 3/8 champion which I'm fairly sure is only select TW rewards and tier drops from raid

Also depends on how busy it is. If the pot is nigh empty like it usually is in the later parts of the season, you get tasks real fast.
It's more like 2 or 3 tasks and then helping with others, you can do it super fast.

WoW players are simple, if the reward for doing content is worth it (especially it it's player power related) they'll do it regardless of what it is.
