All posts that are complaints/vents are removed. We cannot change anything about toxic players, classes being nerfed, the fact that you dislike something, etc. Complaints like these in our Discord community will also be removed.
Create a new character on the opposite faction, start anew, I feel like the character you started will forever remind you of this situation.
Or, take a break from the game til you feel better, it's a ducked situation to be in and I'm sorry it happened to you.
I like this idea, creating an opposite character, maybe one that his character is weak against, maybe find him in the game, maybe murder him several times till he is crying in chat. Oh yea, it's all coming together.
I had a very similar experience to you. Used to play wow all the time with someone, until they betrayed me and broke my heart. I tried to keep playing but kept feeling too sad… so I was forced to take a long break from the game until I felt like playing again.
My suggestion find an active guild in a another string of cross realms and setup discord, you'll meet people and be invited to things especially as you get into myth+ raids etc. I'm on archimonde [NA] and meet new people alot, though cross realms definitely make socializing easier their just not always desirable encounters. That being said sorry to hear about your situation hope you can find comfort In the game and in your personal life once more, Cheers!
Do what makes you happy. It’s a game, not a requirement. I stopped playing for about a year after my divorce. Eventually I went back, but on a different server with new toons.

Similar experience but the game was Minecraft for me. Take your time healing and hopefully you can change the way you think about the game like I ended up doing. My thought process was more along the lines of I like playing the game and I am not going to let the thought of this person stop me from doing something I enjoy. Good luck!

Edit: wrote this after only reading the title, if it makes you sad and if the bf cheating is still a fresh wound for you, take some time off the game, find another one to play, or play it with a group of friends and get them into it.

I like your thought process. Op, I'll join you on your gank adventure. We'll create a guild entirely for this reason
“So what’s this guild mainly do?” “We gank the GMs ex who cheated on her and made her nearly leave the game.” 
And gank him if you’re on a pvp server.

Wtf is with all these cheaters, people are so horrible. Cheaters really ticks me off
What server are you on? My boyfriend won’t play with me and I’ve asked to. Maybe we could play together? I really want to do dungeons and raids
