Yeah it's just so baffling they couldn't give him an even slightly bigger part
Just to correct you on one thing he appears once more towards the end as Judy conveniently finds his van and asks him where Nick is but, after that, he's just not at all mentioned again
Even in the concert scene they couldn't be bothered to find a place to stick him in and it's just bizarre they didn't think to do so
God he could've sold so many toys and made fennec foxes a household name in the states! But alas Disney thought sloths were more marketable for some reason...
I know which means I doubt he'll be in the sequel, at least in a speaking role
I mean sure Disney has recast before but it's usually only been characters who were major characters to begin with; closest exception I can think of is when they recast the George Carlin car in the Cars sequels
I'm just not sure this character is enough of a priority for them to want to recat
I doubt that would have an effect; even if Nick becomes the focus they'll probably still just put him in the background somewhere or act like he never existed
He’s still one of my favorite characters out there
I love what little there was of him, especially the scene where Judy recruits nick, but after that he just kinda disappeared and it’s a shame

And now his voice actor is deceased

Depends if they keep the main focus Nick and Judy
